Girl meets boy, sparks fly but girl plays hard to get. Boy is intrigued, and pursues relentlessly, chipping at girl's walls. Oh Levi, you are so arrogant. Good looking and you know it. Strutting your stuff; showing off those pecs, handsome face, and those wings. I mean, who could resist a good, strong pair of wings? But eventually the lure is too much for girl, and she gives in to the sparks. (She couldn't resist. I don't blame her.) As stubborn as Allie is and as self controlled as she thinks she is, the pull towards Levi is too strong. And the allure of this other world she is introduced to... how can a girl say no to that? But Allie definitely bit off more than she can chew.... or did Levi? Typical YA novel, but with a very interesting plot with supernatural creatures that are quite original from what I have read. Though I wanted a lot more information on the Pterons, seeing as this is the first of a series, I am sure my thirst for more knowledge will be satisfied in upcoming novels (I hope). Alyssa Rose Ivy introduces some very interesting and colorful characters, who are full bodied and believable. You find yourself immersed in intrigue and drama that may be all too familiar when reminiscing of youthful (or adult!) mistakes or impulses, combined with great action and the magic of the paranormal element of the story line. The story being located in New Orleans held a little magic all of its own. New Orleans is bewitching to me, and the writer did a great job of writing in enough elements to always remind you where these characters are. Some of the locations described, even the food, drink and music in the background made the story even more spellbinding and intriguing. There wasn't one dull moment in this novel, from start to finish. It kept my interest completely throughout. It ended quite abruptly, which led me to scratch my head in confusion, confirm the word/page count, and then wallow in the feeling of disappointment that it was, indeed, finished.... for now! Needless to say I look forward to the second installment of the series with much anticipation.

Flight was thrilling, unpredictable, radiating with tension of all kinds, and that includes a romance that I cannot wait to read more about in the next book. I really enjoyed reading this story from Allie's POV; you really understand her background, why she moved to New Orleans for the summer, before her first year at Princeton. You also get a sense of her feisty like personality, and it definitely draws a hot college senior, Levi. He, was...extremely WELL Written!! I really like him, and he's definitely a ladies man, but for some reason, Allie has caught his eye, and he's actually pretty persistent to wanting to be with her, even though he practically gets turned down by Allie on a few occasions. Yes, this is a very interesting Romance, and I believe the cover gives a good indication for how their steamy like scenes are like! You just got to read on your own and find out where! So...there's definitely an undeniable romance but...there's a fantasy element to this story, and Levi introduces Allie to something supernatural, of which she never knew could exist, but just how far can she go before turning the other way, and possibly turning from Levi? I just want to start out and say this is absolutely a wonderful New Adult Novel. It's a perfect story for this genre. There is the sense of independence, learning/making mistakes and a whole lot more that contributes to this great genre. I feel that the writing was purely excellent including the scenes, dialogue, and the setting as you just get a feel of what New Orleans is like, and what happens there on a daily basis, and that is one city I would definitely love to visit! This is my first time reading Ivy's work, and I now just can't wait to read more of her awesome stories, as she is a wonderful writer, and storyteller! All in all, this was an addictive read and I really can't wait to read the next book in the Chronicles, because, ahh you'll see when you read it; you're just going to want to read more, after you read the last page! 4.5/5

I am now a huge fan of Alyssa Rose Ivy!!! I couldn't say a bad thing about this book:) I read it from beginning to end in one sitting and loved it so much! I really enjoyed the characters in this story. They were so diverse, yet meshed so well together. Levi was the perfect bad boy and Jess was so boy crazy. Allie had sworn off boys, but Levi wouldn't take no for an answer. I am chomping at the bit to get to read the sequel, Focus that will be out early 2013. I am also going to go right out and check out Alyssa Rose Ivy's other series and any other books of hers I can get my hands on! This review is short and sweet because I really don't have anything to say other than this book rocked my socks off! I recommend it to New Adults and older YA. This book deserves five glittery stars since it is so amazing and all:)

3.5 stars Did I enjoy this book: I did enjoy this book. It took longer than I expected to read but I did read it every free chance I had.  This was an interesting story. We meet Allie while she is in New Orleans working at her father's hotel. The first day she arrives, she meets Levi. We can all guess what happens.  I liked Allie's character for the most part. She was strong and didn't really put up with lines and other crap from guys. She could hold her own. Allie's sarcasm, wit, and character really struck me. She was a good character. Did she act like a typical teen girl sometimes? Yes, but that was okay. Levi was awfully sure of himself. He was very presumptuous and arrogant. Levi rubbed me the wrong way throughout this book. However, that was his character and it worked. He and his crew were a typical "frat boy"-type group but with a much more interesting background.  There was romance, action, and the inevitable cocky-guy screw up. Throw in the fact that Levi is a Pteron, and part of the supernatural society that Allie did not know existed, and you have a good read. I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in The Crescent Chronicles series, Focus. Would I recommend it: I would recommend this book. It was a good, paranormal YA read. Will I read it again: I will not.

**SPOILER** Review on entire trilogy: The series was very good. At first it was a little slow, but then it picks up. However I did not like the back and forth between Levi and Allie. I felt like a couple of times would have been  okay, but not for the entire series. Also I felt the whole thing with Toby was odd, one minute Toby refuses  to live without Allie, the next he sees she is sick and BAM! He lets her go to make her own choice? Too fast.

Ok, let me make this clear, I am team Levi all the way even after what happened. There I got that out. This was such addicting YA book. Although it lays on the line of older YA but clean enough to keep the YA title. The story idea alone was so creative that it kept me intrigued. I wished we could have learned a bit more about the species and a little less of Allie's man troubles. That is why I gave it a 4 instead of 5 Stars. I get that Allie had it rough in previous relationship but her man hating attitude got to be tiring after a while. I liked that Allie played a feisty role, but too bad her side kick Jess didn't stick around longer. Levi is a definite drool worthy character worth following around like a puppy dog. The support characters were entertaining and had an appeal to them that kept your interest. The descriptions of the paranormal creatures were good and the relationships between the different species was interesting. I anxiously await the next book Focus.

I almost didn't bother finishing this book. Some if it was too unbelievable and happened too fast. SPOILER ALERT!!!!! Allie was not the strong female lead i was hoping for and the romance between her and Levi in the first few chapters wasn't there. I kept thinking she would go for Owen. Then this jerk (Levi) tells you he is a crow and you cant wait to fly again? Everything was too easily introduced. Levi should have had to save her life and thats how he revealed his powers. There was no mystery at all. The writer just tells you everything without suspense. That being said the crow idea is original though im not sure how they are more superior than mountain lions and wolves but whatever.

Flight was an interesting read. It had good characters and a great storyline. However, it didn't really have a major plot or the suspense that this story needed to keep it flowing smoothly. I liked that the author tried to make this story a little bit more different than other ones, but in this case that didn't really work. As for the characters they were all nice and humorous, but sometimes they honestly just seemed very stupid. For one thing, Jess who happens to be Allie's best friend just ditches Allie during during their summer vacation in New Orleans because she made a mistake with a boy and can't get over it. Afterwards, Levi tricks Allie into becoming his mate without even letting her know about it, because he claims he loved her and was afraid he would loose her as she would be going back to New York at the end of the summer. Honestly, if you really loved her shouldn't your love be enough to make her stay with you? And not only that, when Allie finally finds out the truth from Hailey and freaks out, she tries to run away from New Orleans but ends up being kidnapped by an enemy of Levi and his family. When she is finally rescued by Jared, one of Levi's friends, he casually tells her to get over what Levi did and accept it, and blames her for getting kidnapped. Seriously? Your best friend tricks the girl he claims to love into becoming his mate, even though she barely knows anything about your supernatural world. And when she has a mental breakdown and freaks out and tries to leave, but gets kidnapped instead, that's what you say? Levi himself may be very hot and swoon worthy, but that doesn't change the fact that he did a very stupid thing by tricking Allie into accepting to be his mate without even letting her know, or decide what she wanted. The good thing about all these characters were that they are all very determined and caring people, especailly Hailey ( my favorite character in this book), and Allie who was a very strong minded protagonist. The fact that she didn't put up with Levi's nonsense, and kept refusing him at the beginning, and refusing to just forgive him at the end for what he did proved that she was a strong mined character. She stood up for herself and wasn't one to be easily persuaded into anything. These traits made her character different and likeable throughout the book. Unfortunately, characters aside the plot wasn't much better either. It came too late in the story and wasn't really the strong climax that I had been hoping to read. Most of the story just felt like Allie trying to make her mind up about Levi, and Levi chasing after Allie. It didn't have the whole factor of keeping the reader at the edge of their seat trying to desperately know what would happen next. It was pretty basic and okay, but would have been better had it been more suspenseful and creative. Overall, this was a quick read and the story, no matter how lacking it was in its characters' personalities or plot, it was still very interesting and had a good storyline going on. The good writing quality, and the funny, witty banter between Levi and Allie, as well as the other characters kept the story upbeat and humorous. Allie's strong personality, and Levi's obnoxious but cute behaviors were enough to keep the reader hooked. This was an interesting book, but I am still not sure if I want to continue on to the next book or just stop with this one.

Story was good but I'm not really into the whole paranormal scene in this series. I may read book 2 it might get better as the series goes but what levi did is unforgivable.
