I have wanted to read this for a while but held off. Having never read any of the other stories in this series, I was worried it would be difficult to follow. I was wrong. It worked wonderfully as a standalone novel but to be honest I now HAVE to read the rest of the series - it was that good. Marie Harte wrote an extremely addictive story with Flight of Fancy. I had a hard time putting it down. The storyline didn't let up and the character/relationship development was well paced.
Aidan has a haunted past and doesn't feel he fits in, not even amongst other gifted physics. He needs to find a way to open up to himself and others. Gavin has something to prove to himself as much as he does to his team members. Not wanting to be, the two are each extremely attracted to one another. In an effort to keep Gavin from leaving, the boss pairs him with Aidan on a mission to recover a stolen book. Only Gavin has already messed up the mission trying to prove himself. Needing to pose as a convincing D/s couple, the men train to forge a believable, trusting relationship. In this mission, one unconvincing move may lead to both of their deaths. The romance heats up between the pair but it's only about the mission, right?
While I have read several m/m books, this was my first D/s m/m. It was surprisingly hot, REALLY HOT. The D/s relationship was healthy and caring. Aiden and Gavin grew together and developed a beautiful and loving relationship that met both of their needs and deepest desires. I very much recommend Flight of Fancy. It had just the right amount of drama, danger, excitement and an extra-large dose of erotic scenes.

Aidan Marshall isn't like the others who now work as civilians for the PowerUp! gym. He doesn't feel like he fits in, even among the misfits. Being gay means nothing to the people he's with. He can read thoughts and speak with his mind, and no one ever feels ...
