This book will keep you on edge. Seriously. A page turner especially with all the shenanigans the culput pulls on these girls. Good read. Will look for more from author.

660 pagrs, no conclusion, have to buy next book which is unpublished

660 pages. This book does not have a conclusion, it just stops. It is to be continued in the next book, which has not been published yet. The author has either never heard of a comma, does not know how to use one, or was just too lazy to hit the comma key. This created some very convoluted and interesting sentences. There a lot of characters in this book, I counted at least 37 in the first six chapters, so readers might want to a list, in order to know who is who. The author also needed to do a bit more research on the bodily functions of birds. Birds do not urinate in streams. They deficate a white, almost solid matter, which is their urine, alone with a darker colored feces at the same time. The urine usually surrounds the feces. Now that I have my gripes out of the way, I want to say how much I enjoyed this mystery. I like my mysteries more intense, but this one, while a milder read, had everything a mystery should have. There were various sub plots, which were very intriging and added a lot to the novel. The book did not have the humor of author, Janet Evanovich or the intensity of Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta, as one reviewer stated, but had a unique writting style all its own. I especially enjoyed the teenagers and their own plot line, which near the end, intertwined seamlessly with the adult's plot. Very nicely done! This book had murder, no sex, mild violence, no cursing, no religion, a few James Bond type gadgets, Fun! Some great and unexpected twists and turns.Great, belivable, fun and likable characters. They were not the usual PI or newspaper reporter, which was a nice, fresh, change of pace. This book could be read and enjoyed by young people ages 14 and up. As well as adult male and female mystery lovers. While I highly recommend this book, I would wait until the second book comes out because of the cliff hanger ending.

    Unsolved

It was interesting BUT it never solved the main murders (2). You have to buy and read the next book or books. I don't like that. It is not fair to the reader. I will avoid any other book by this auther.

    Really nice read. Light mystery.

A really nice read. Looking forward to the next one. A little disjointed at times. She had a separate story line going she did tie in, but it felt too separate most of the book. But it still worked and was a fun book to read.

A enjoyable, different, and well written suspense. The interaction of Jo and Kate along with their pets in solving crimes is great. The twist and turns keeps you guessing and reading until the end. Can't wait for the sequel

well the first in this series came out in 2012. It is now almost mid 2014 - when is the next one in this series coming out?
I agree with other reviews...loved the story  line but too many unanswered questions and a cliffhanger at the end....which
will not make any difference when the next book is not even out yet to keep this one fresh in your mind and start in on the next one.
Can someone tell us when the next book is coming out?????? Thank you

    Florida Heat by Rainy Kirkland

    3.5 Star Review from SDCexy
I enjoyed this read! One dead person, then BAM another dead body!!! Two murders to open the book, I like the pace, then a body goes missing, a missing child, sex trafficing, bird smuggling AND Black characters, one even as FINE as Denzel Washington! All in all, this was a good book that made me lol plus the read was suspenceful and it also had action. I just did NOT like that one murder must be solved in the next book.

    Mysteries never get solved

This was a very good book except for the fact that two of the three major murder mysteries in it never get solved. The story just stops abruptly, with no ending. If you don't mind being left hanging, you'll enjoy this, especially since the continuation of the story hasn't even been published. Otherwise, if you're like me and you find that especially annoying, skip this book. If the next book ever comes out, I won't be buying it. It feels too much like extortion.

    Best in awhile

I've had a dry spell reading. Nothing has sounded good lately, so when a friend suggested this one, it took me months to read it. I regret that. This kept my interest the whole way through. If you like murder mysteries where you can relate to the hero/heroine, this is a good one.
