Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Naomi Butler
Children, parents, and teachers will all enjoy Tiffany Stone's first book of silly poems. Kathryn Shoemaker's drawings complement the humor that kids of all ages will find addicting. Tiffany Stone lives in British Columbia with her own fabulous flocks: a husband, two young children, and six cat--but no flamingoes--yet. Stone's poems are described as playful and happy, snapping and toe tapping, witty--reflective--wise. They are divided into the following chapters--"Floyd's Flock," "Day Play," "Silly Play," and "Night Play." The black drawings on cream color pages are quite effective and complimentary to the verses. They also represent what is happening in the poems. It is definitely a book where the poems should be read aloud and shared with others. The book is also colored, as it should be, flamingo pink! It may be a book that is more effective when used with the children by a teacher or other adult. It may also need to be supported by an adult when a child picks it up.
