Meet the Author

Hi, my name is Rosemary. My nationality is English although my parentage stems from celtic roots. My main passion is writing but I also paint, mostly in oils. I am first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother; previously a practical, down to earth business woman - now retired. Born dyslexic into an academically oriented family in the days before the disability was recognised, early years were not easy. But having to prove myself to myself, has stood me in good stead and toughened my character. I knew I could write - even if I couldn't spell. My fear of reading in public led to the development of a keen memory. My inborn love of the written word helped me to overcome my disability and to eventually become a mainstream published author. I am now trying my hand at e-publishing. My writings include adult fiction, astrological books, poetry and children’s stories. Although not as young as I used to be, I hope I still remain ‘young at heart', always able to truthfully hold my hand up to a firm belief in the magic of childhood - not the J. K. Rowling kind (although I adore the books and films), but rather the wonderment of the Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy years. I love children and equate to them, some might say because deep down I have never entirely grown up. To tell the truth, I hope I never really do. Besides the Facebook URL above I have another page under the name of Percy Prickles and Friends. This is where I showcase my e-books and update my readers with news and information. ** I am in the process updating my full length novel, Lust, Love & Lies. In its present form it is rather jaded. I wrote it many years ago and my writing style has altered (and I hope improved) over time. The results should be well worth the effort. Watch this space.** Sorry folks still on going!

A life painted with blood will paint all other lives it touches...<p>"It' s been a quarter moon. He's not coming back."<br>Burnedshard ignored Flywing's pessimism. "He has to come back. He has to..."<br>Flywing, being insensitive to the subject, rolled his eyes and left her to her thoughts. Shadestream watched him go before turning to Burnedshard. "Of course he'll come back; you'll see."<br>Burnedshard tried to smile back, but her face just wouldn't stretch. "Yeah..."<br>Shadestream tried to think of something comforting to tell her friend, but nothing came to mind. So the gray-black she-cat sat with Burnedshard, watching the horizon, and knowing Flywing was right.<p>'Just a little further,' the white tom told himself. He'd been traveling a little more than a quarter moon and knew the camp was up ahead somewhere. When he passed through Twolegplace, he had half-hoped to see his brother and half-dreaded it, but either way he didn't see the matted gray pelt.<br>And he was exhausted. His pelt was turning brown from dust, and he hadn't eaten much since he set off. But as the familiar silver gleam came into view, he knew he'd be safe soon.<br>A guard at the entrance and told him to stop. "Who you?" the muscular tom asked.<br>The white cat smiled. "Oak. Been a while."<br>The guard, Oak, froze. "Naw way...Whitey? Dang, I didn't reco'nize you with all that dirt. C'mon in; getchaself cleaned up."<br>As the white cat came in, Oak asked, "So hey, you never did tell no one your name."<br>The white cat sort of smiled, green eyes gleaming, and answered, "Shard."<p>The big gray tom stared at the pool. His son had put up quite the fight; the tom's face was covered with wounds in the process of healing. He growled and soashed the water with his large paw. "That little...at least we won't have to deal with the rat any longer."<br>"Who's a rat, now?" came a voice behind the tom, flippant and casual.<br>The huge gray tom turned and looked at the speaker, a younger, thinner version of himself. "The one that gave me these," he answered, putting a paw against one of them.<br>The younger cat's grin never left his face. "Aw, you don't hafta go talkin' like that. It's in the past, ain't it?"<br>The bigger one sort of chuckled. "Indeed. Nonetheless, I didn't finish off the other one. I heard OakClan pulled him from my claws. Well, next time, he shan't be so lucky."<br>The skinny cat looked at him curiously. "Shardflight, ya mean?"<br>"OF COURSE I MEAN SHARDFLIGHT!" The big cat roared. "Thistlepaw's already dead! Who else would I mean?!"<br>The other still grinned, though a hint of anger lit his eyes. "Yeah, ya did kill Thistlepaw. And the two's mom. I near forgot."<br>"Pah. I expect little more from you. Though I'm surprised you care, after what that fox did to you..."<br>"My ma wasn't no fox. Even if she acted like it. She had her reasons."<br>"Because you reminded her of things she'd rather have forgotten? You accept that?" The big gray tom's flame-colored eyes shown in their dark surroundings.<br>The thin tom gave the only answer that would avoid a fight. "Nah. I hate her for it. She deserved what happened." His eyes, the same color as the bigger cat's, gave nothing away as the lie slipped from his tongue.<br>"Heh. Good answer, boy. Now...off to OakClan."<p>Hi again! So I just realized there's an OakClan and a cat named Oak. Purely coincidental. So this one will take longer to write, but hopefully it's worth it!

Is this book a good read, or is it a total waste of space? It looks enthralling, but it seems submerged in fantasy. Is it too deep or too out there with violence, or does it have too much sorrowful feeling? Thanks...
