Meet the Author

Stephen Cosgrove is one of the best-selling children’s book authors of all time. His writing career began in 1973 when, while shopping at bookstores for his three-year-old daughter, he was frustrated by the lack of fun-to-read picture books that also convey positive values. Consequently, he decided to write his own stories. Cosgrove went on to create four titles that became the foundation of his best-selling Serendipity series, which has sold over 80 million copies worldwide. Since then, he has written more than 300 books, some under his own name and others using pseudonyms, ranging from picture books to young adult thrillers. The winner of the Coors Lumen Award for family values and multiple Children’s Choice Awards, he lives in Austin, TX.

Robin James is a gifted illustrator and a native of the Pacific Northwest. She has loved art and animals all her life and has been drawing ever since she could hold a pencil. Through the years, she has created a wide variety of artwork from animal portraits to wildlife paintings and has illustrated over 75 children’s books, and is published worldwide. She lives in Snohomish, WA.

    Excellent Pick!

I grew up reading the Serendipity series. As a child I found the illustrations facinating and the lesson at the end of the book was always a good bedtime thought to ponder. Now as an adult, elementary school teacher and summer camp staff I find the books are excellent in helping my students/campers deal with issues that are happening in the world, their community or in their personal relationships. I highly reccommend the entire series for every educator. The unique element is that each book takes on one of life's issues; this one deals with finding yourself and rejoicing in that discovery, others deal with friendships, manners, procrastination and even abuse issues. They are great, enjoy every last one!

    Story and illustrations are great!

Every book in this series that I have seen has an easily understood moral lesson and lovely illustrations. They were my daughter's favorites when she was young. Now, years later, I'm buying them for my granddaughter.

    My Flutterby Review..:)

As a child i grew up reading all the serendipity books they were my favorite and I love reading them and sharing them with my two daughters . the book helps you to better understand how gossip can be hurtful and spreaded and that it is better to not spread lies or words you hear unless you hear them clearly..i think all the serendipity books teach very good values and lessons...
