Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Patricia Williamson
Think about a lazy day in summer when you hear the water flowing by and have a desire to pull out the fishing rod to catch a few fish. This is the essence of Fly Fishing by Ellen Hopkins. This book takes the reader on an adventure of learning about the sport in a way that allows for a prior knowledge of fishing but also infuses the specific sport of fly fishing. Set up like many other Edge books the format is predictable and comforting. There is a history of the sport followed by sections on the equipment needed, safety issues to be aware of, skills necessary for success and a section on conservation. This book's pictures and captions bring the reader into the sport and help to round out the book for a novice or solidify the sport for one who has some knowledge of it. There is a recipe, which is a cornerstone of these books, made with a fish from the book which sounds delightful and delicious. Reviewer: Patricia Williamson
