Overview

More than thirty Allied Forces' WWII aircraft types are illustrated in many rare and previously unpublished black and white and color photographs. Each type is described giving vital data on development history, combat record, famous pilots and significant air battles. Performance, range and weapon loads are also included. The unique color photographs are from the collection of the late William B. Slate, an aviation photographer who strove to capture the thrilling perspective that can only come from close-up, in-flight vantage points from an aircraft flying in formation.

This book shows a good chunk of British and American aircraft used during the Second World War. It is a great book to read cover to cover, or slap down on the coffee table so that you can paw through a few pictures and read a profile or two at you leisure. Each of the aircraft from T6's to Spitfires to B17's and C47's are individually profiled. The profiles are jammed full of information, like how the aircraft was designed, how it was used or notable pilots or battles that it was involved in. Almost every aircraft that is profiled has at least one period picture along with it. At the end of every profile there is a chart of the aircrafts specifications (maximum take-off weight, cruise speed, ect.). Overall there are 33 aircraft featured in 'Flying Legends' along with the back section that is filled with modern pictures of the surviving war birds (even a p38!). I honestly was not sure if I would enjoy this book, but I found myself hooked on it, and learned quite a bit along the way.

Its fun being a shadow. I have guidelines for using my powers too. *pure defense. Offense is hard without creating shadow beasts, which drains a lot of energy. *no new powers. Only shadow manipulation. Anything extra that i can do right off the spot that i just made up is unfair and would be impossible to master instantly. *tell them your weakness before fighting. *offer to use powers, and if they decline, dont use them. *be fair. No one hit kills. *shadow beasts, only 2 max at a time. No other powers while using them.
