Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"Overall, getting the students engaged with text is challenging, but FOCUS does a really good job in that area. It is VERY cool that the book has lent itself to 'spurts' of information as needed and appropriate. And when I would mention things from various chapters, I would see in their body language that they were getting it. Some texts are so compartmentalized that connections can be hard to make. FOCUS is smooth and connected throughout." —Alice Godbey, Daytona State College

"The biggest challenge is having students understand the importance of the course as well as the material. They all still feel as though they do not need this course or the material, even though they all have experienced many of the issues that are covered in the textbook. This textbook does a great job linking the material to their personality, college performance, and career, which does help to show the importance of the course." —Shane Williamson, Lindenwood University
