I'm a savvy traveler, so when I saw this book in the store I thought it would be perfect for my needs: compact and hitting the highlights. I needed to buy it in a hurry because the book I wanted to take with me wasn't available. What I got was a book that was incomplete in so many aspects that it became a very frustrating process trying to use the book and maps. The explanations were minimal, which would have been okay except that by keeping things minimal, they left out important elements that were vital to touring. The Best Of doesn't have to leave out important information; it should spend time embellishing on the importance of those 25 items. Berlin is known for its extensive WWII and Cold War history; however, there was hardly a nod toward that subject specifically, rather it was scattered throughout in a mildly haphazard manner. In order to find specific information, I often had to resort to the Internet and then mark the information in the book where I thought it should have appeared. The map was useful. I was able to use it in most situations, although the print was small and sometimes there wasn't room for even larger side streets to be shown. The 1 and 2 day tour suggestions were fairly useless to me too, which was another disappointment. Overall, had I spent an extra 10 minutes looking around and an extra few dollars, I would have gotten a more useful book. I enjoy using Fodor's products, but remain deeply disappointed with this one. I'm not even going to bring it home to donate to our library, it was that useless to me.
