This book had very useful and conservitive facts about Italy.Ihad to write a paper about the majority of Roman Catholics in Italy. My book was very useful. I strongly advise getting this book for knowledgable abd reliable answers. Thanks.

I did not find this book especially useful. I had very high hopes for it since I would be traveling for a month in Italy but it just seemed to fall short. Having explored Siena because I lived there, non of the restaurants I enjoyed were even in the book. The ones that were...I had no idea where they were but they seemed awfully pricey. I traveled around as well and besides the obvious points of interests for tourists of Florence, Rome, and Venice - there was really nothing this book had to offer for the solo traveler. Then there is the obvious problem of the size and weight of this book- you are unlikely to lug around this heavy piece of literature if your planning to walk around Rome for the day. The history was great but as a travel companion you do not need history, you are there to live history not read it out of a textbook.
