Overview

Entering its 20th edition, Fodor’s Walt Disney World® with Kids delivers the definitive but always-easy-to-access advice of former Disney Magazine contributing editor Kim Wright Wiley, who has logged more than 50 visits to the parks both as a keen-eyed journalist and as a parent. Every family needs her tips and insider knowledge to make the most of a trip to Walt Disney World.
Wiley not only rates attractions and rides based on their age-related suitability and "scare" factor, but also incorporates feedback from hundreds of families who, like her, have not-so-tirelessly field tested it all. Inside you'll find:
Ø Everything a family needs to choose the right hotel, including driving times to the parks from each property
Ø Full ratings as well as quick-reference charts for the most kid-pleasing rides and restaurants
Ø Must-see attraction checklists geared toward young kids as well as preteens and teens
Ø Time-saving tips, such as how to avoid crowds and lines at the park
Ø Insider's secrets and the skinny on "Hidden Mickeys"
Ø Cautionary tales and success stories from parents about their park experiences
Ø Convenient maps of Walt Disney World and Universal Studios
"Must reading for everyone planning to bring their family."–Katie Couric, NBC's Today Show

Gives great information and tips for planning a trip to the most magical place on earth "Disney World" I have taken many notes for planning my trip in October. Would recommend to all!

I bought 3 Disney guides at the same time because they each had a different flavor and didn't overlap. This book was probably my favorite of the three. It contains information, tips, suggestions & real stories collected from people that have visited Disney. It helps with the obvious questions of where to eat or stay, but at the same time helps to answer more mundane questions that you'd ask of a friend that's been there. ("Is it WORTH trying to get a table at Cinderella's castle?" & "Should I carry a backpack?" & "Do you think this ride was too scary?" As I was reading the book, I'd mark little stories so that I could later read them to my husband & daughters. I look forward to our trip so that I might be able to send in our thoughts!

This book was very informative on Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld attractions. Includes hotel info, recomended rides via age group, and usually ride and attraction ratings. Very handy indeed. The only thing that I found to my disadvantage is that there wasnt as much information on Universal or SeaWorld, and that there would be data charts placed in pages in between readings. Overall Grade: B+/A-

We went to Disney World this year after a 13 year hiatus. We knew that so much had changed in that time period... So much had also changed in our lives with the addition of our 3 year old grandson to the group. We bought several books but knew we needed direction for bringing a little one with us. The book is well written, and geared to kids of all ages. We used a lot of the advice to do special things with the little guy. The time-saving tips and helpful hints are invaluable. They also have a Don't-Miss list for kids in different age brackets, and the "Scare Factor" sdvice is sound. I can't tell you all the good things about this book. One word of advice: buy it and do your research well in advance. There's SO much in here and the other books we used that you need to process it all before you go. Believe me it helped so much.

If you have kids and are going to Disney, this is the book to get. She has a great list of what is apprioate at different age groups. You do not want your child to go on a ride or to a show and end up scared. What fun would that be.
