Fodor’s Walt Disney World® with Kids, 2010 Edition

Entering its 20th edition, Fodor’s Walt Disney World with Kids delivers the definitive but always-easy-to-access advice of former Disney Magazine contributing editor Kim Wright Wiley, who has logged more than 50 visits to the parks both as a keen-eyed journalist and as a parent. Informative, practical - and easy to read

As a mother of four, this is my favorite of all the Walt Disney World guide. It's written in a fun and breezy style with lots of humor and you can tell the author is a mother herself. The book has a real "from the trenches" feel to it. Also lots of good info about hotels, rides, food choices, where to meet the characters, etc. But the main thing that makes it the best of the many Disney books is that the touring plans are practical for parents with young kids. The other books offer touring plans that are simply not feasible...you'd never be able to stop, relax, eat, visit a restroom or savor the unique environment of the Disney parks. This book keeps in mind the whole experience and that part of the reason people go to Disney World is to enjoy relaxing and seeing the magic reflected in the eyes of their kids.

    Excellent Resource!

My family and I are planning our first family vacation this May to Disney World. We are thrilled to be going but have a 2 year old son. I know this is going to be a magical experience for him, but I have never been myself so I have no idea what to expect. I have been reading other guide books and they have all been fun and helpful but this book was helpful in a better way for me as a mom. It clearly rated and explained what to expect out of each attraction and each park with a toddler. You can find scores of books for adults or even for kids, but toddlers are a whole other animal and this book clearly states how scary a 2-3 year old might find classic rides, and what things we should make sure to make time for. I feel so much better prepared for this trip after having read the book, I would recommend it to anyone with small children planning a Disney vacation!
