Overview

Liam Edwin Severin is a brooding young wizard whose home has fallen prey to the Dark Circle, a group of wizards ever on the search for the chosen hero who can bring their wicked reign to an end. Having given up on any hope of a normal life, Liam succumbs to the Circle's every whim and command, in hopes that he might at least spare his parents from their wrath.

However, one evening, Liam finds an unexpected gift in his room. A young girl whom the Circle captured in hopes that Liam will gain her trust- only to torture her into becoming their spy. Liam is used to this kind of work, but this girl is different. She is Esma, a Story-traveler as well as a friend and flame from his childhood.

Can Esma use the last of her Story-traveler wishes to save both Liam and his family? And if not, how can Liam possibly spare her from the Circle's wrath? Though it seems impossible, he must find a way. For her love has made him human again, and he cannot bear the thought of losing her a second time.

"Oh my goodness. This has to be one of my favourite stories I have ever read."
~ Oriana, Goodreads

"Richly written."
~ Stephen Burke, Goodreads

"I love the worlds and characters Christine imagines. This was such an amazing story, I couldn't put it down. "
~ Jessica Dumitru, Goodreads

"...I found that, once I started reading it, I couldn't stop...some of the writing was almost poetic. .. I was actually sorry to see it end. I can re-read it, of course, but it's not the same as reading a story for the first time... I knew I had to give the story five stars when I was about halfway through and thinking, 'I really should be going to bed... but it's only 4-something-am and I want to find out what happens at the end'."
~ Sarah, Goodreads

Meet the Author

Christine E. Schulze has been creating books since she was too young to even write them in words. Her collection of YA and MG fantasy and Christian Fantasy books, The Amielian Legacy, is comprised of series and stand-alone books which can all be read separately but which weave together to create an amazing fantasy.

One of her main aspirations for The Amielian Legacy is to be able to create grand fantasy adventures with characters that connect with readers from all different backgrounds. She prides herself on including diversity in her books; right now her focus is on racial diversity and people with disabilities.

Some of her exciting ventures include her publications with Old Line Publishing, Bloodmaiden and Lily in the Snow, as well as The Stregoni Sequence and The Chronicles of the Mira with Writers-Exchange in both paperback and electronic forms. She is also a proud author at Book By You, a publisher specializing in personalized books, and is happy to release Song Quest, Black Lace, and Dark Embrace with them.

Her most recent project includes the professional re-editing and remastering of her YA Fantasy series, The Hero Chronicles, which is anticipated for re-release starting in 2015 under the new name A Shadow Beyond Time. For this series, she has also brought an amazing new co-author onto her team, Kira Lerner.

Christine currently lives in Belleville, IL, but you can visit her on her blog: http://christineschulze.com/
