Meet the Author

Julie Trone - She chose a career in education after producing a video for a non-profit organization in Los Angeles starring children who were chronically ill. Her career as an educator evolved to include both the development and acquisition of preschool programs to teach preschoolers through elementary school aged children social skills through the sports of soccer and dance, respectively, until her twin sons were born. When one of her sons was diagnosed with food allergies at 5 months old she became proactive in learning how to manage his care. Julie has been very active in advocacy, education, support, creating educational materials, and promoting legislation regarding food allergy safety

Maria Acebal - She has used her expertise in law as well her personal experience in food allergy to create a renowned non-profit food allergy safety program, Safe @ School Partners. The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network has adopted this program as well as appointed Maria as Vice President/General Counsel. This book is a reflection of the educational program that she developed for Safe @ School Partners.

Both authors have been very active in advocacy, education, support, creating educational materials, and promoting legislation regarding food allergy safety.
