This is the first time I've had troubles with BN, and the problems have been huge and on multiple levels. First, I ordered a book for international shipping paying for the 4-14 business day shipping. On the 16th business day I contacted BN about where my book was, why couldn't I access the tracking for my book, and why couldn't I access my account, and when I tried and requested a password reminder, no message was sent to my email. Complete frustration! I contacted BN through online chat, my only avenue to resolve the problem. The agent I spoke with told me that even though the book was for 4-14 business days I also needed to allow 2 weeks for customs to clear the book. No way! Not in my many, many experiences! I told him this was for large orders, not single book or small books orders. He was adamant, and said I could not contact BN with a complaint until 2 more weeks had passed. My class had started 2 weeks earlier and it was a 7 1/2 weeks course. I told him this was NOT stated anywhere in their shipping policies. He was adamant. He also told me that international shipping with BN doesn't have tracking. WHAT?! He never addressed my issues with not being able to access my own BN account, namely that every time I requested a password reminder, nothing was sent to my email. I kept trying to access that account and 24 hours later, suddenly all my password reminder requests came at once. Finally! But it didn't really help to access it because it offered no tracking on my order. And BN communication still failed me on another level. I emailed a summary of the problem on the Contact Customer Service page. Unlike all other companies that have such a contact service, I did NOT receive a copy of my letter in my email account. I received NOTHING. And according to the site, I was to allow 2 business days for a response. Again, NOTHING! BN seems to effectively wash their hands of "problems". They really, really need to address their customer service. If a company can't guaranteee an order and offer support for that order to further its arrival, then customers should look elsewhere to make their purchases. In complete frustration, I was forced to re-order the book but from Amazon, who offers tracking, and has been great with their customer service. Because of time constraints, I ordered from Amazon expedited express 2-4 business days and the book was placed in my hands 4 business days later. The book I ordered from BN still is ... where?
