You'll Need

1 tablespoon active, dry yeast 1½ cups warm water 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon white granulated sugar 4 cups all-purpose flour ½ cup butter, melted ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

Directions

1 Preheat oven to 425° Fahrenheit and lightly spray 2 cookie sheets with cooking spray.

2 Dissolve yeast in warm water. Pour into large bowl and add salt and sugar, stirring until thoroughly mixed.

3 Add flour to bowl, 1 cup at a time. Mix until blended. 4 Ask a parent to help you knead the dough for 5 minutes.

5 On floured surface, roll out dough into ½-inch thick rectangle.

6 Cut into 15 1-inch wide strips. Arrange strips into pretzel shape.

7 Place pretzel-shaped dough on greased cookie sheets. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until pretzels are golden brown.

I purchased this cookbook as a Christmas gift for my 10 year old daughter. She absolutely loves it and treated the family to many of the recipes during Christmas break. I love the Bible verses at the start of each chapter and how each verse coincides with the category. What a great reminder for showing thanks to the Lord! We found the recipes easy to make with full colored pictures and detailed instructions. Our ONLY disappointment is the book does not list the number of servings for each recipe.
