You'll Need

1 tablespoon active, dry yeast 1½ cups warm water 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon white granulated sugar 4 cups all-purpose flour ½ cup butter, melted ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

Directions

1 Preheat oven to 425° Fahrenheit and lightly spray 2 cookie sheets with cooking spray.

2 Dissolve yeast in warm water. Pour into large bowl and add salt and sugar, stirring until thoroughly mixed.

3 Add flour to bowl, 1 cup at a time. Mix until blended. 4 Ask a parent to help you knead the dough for 5 minutes.

5 On floured surface, roll out dough into ½-inch thick rectangle.

6 Cut into 15 1-inch wide strips. Arrange strips into pretzel shape.

7 Place pretzel-shaped dough on greased cookie sheets. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until pretzels are golden brown.

Monster Cookies

You'll Need

1 cup white granulated sugar 1 cup brown sugar ½ cup (1 stick) butter 3 eggs, beaten 1½ teaspoon vanilla extract 2 teaspoons baking soda 1½ cups peanut butter 4½ cups rolled oats 1 cup chocolate chips 1 cup hard-covered chocolate candies

Directions

1 Preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

2 Cream sugars and butter together in a large bowl. Beat eggs, add to butter mixture, and stir until incorporated.

3 Add vanilla, baking soda, and peanut butter. Mix well.

4 Stir in oatmeal, chocolate chips, and hard-covered chocolate candies.

5 Using an ice-cream scoop, drop batter onto cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until cookies are golden brown. Let cool on tray for 5 minutes; then place on a cooling rack.

No-bake Cookies

You'll Need

¼ cup butter ½ cup milk 2 cups white granulated sugar 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips 4 tablespoons peanut butter 3 cups rolled oats 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Wax paper

Directions

1 Combine butter, milk, and sugar in a large saucepan and simmer over medium heat until butter is melted.

2 Bring mixture to a boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips and peanut butter until melted and thoroughly incorporated.

3 Stir in oats until thoroughly coated with mixture. Drop by spoonful onto wax paper and let cool before serving.
