I am an expatriated French person, and this book was given to me as a wedding gift by my cousin (who has experienced living abroad himself, and knows that food is always what we miss the most).
The recipes in this book are all traditional meals that I've eaten countless times, yet had never bothered to learn to make. They are absolutely delicious, and I use it absolutely all the time. Whether you are a French person missing home, or simply curious about what real French food is, you will be happy you purchased this book.
As far as difficulty, most of the meals in this book are meals that take time to make, and sometimes a little bit of skill and specific utensils. However, the direction are always easy to follow, and I have only had excellent results.
