Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal - School Library Journal
Gr 4-8-An interesting, concise history of food as it relates to humanity's social and historical evolution. Hunting, fishing, gathering, agriculture, and methods of food preparation and preservation are treated in adequate detail and set clearly within historical context. Originally published in Italy, this book has a strong European slant, although American contributions are included when necessary. The highlight of the presentation is its artwork-full-color illustrations that dominate every page and lend detail and life to the text. Well-organized and clearly written, the book will be useful for reports, although it lacks an index.-Joyce Adams Burner, formerly at Spring Hill Middle School, KS
