Dana Kupiac's husband left her over a year ago for the wilds of Ohio and a woman named Allyssa, leaving Dana a single mom on a mission to succeed in her canning business. With the help of Dana's eternally-lactating sister Valerie, Dana takes a once in a lifetime trip to a food conference in Las Vegas where she learns about selling her spicy chutneys, and meets the owner of a gourmet food store whose name suggests more nerd than knockout: Theodore Drimmel. Their weekend together ends in an impromptu ceremony where they're "married" by Elvis.
Dana returns home to Michigan, thinking that what happened in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Life, though, has other plans. What happened in Vegas actually knocks on her door a week later. It seems Theodore isn't sure if he's legally married to Dana or not, and if he is, then his fiancé might be a little upset.
What happens next involves a broken foot and a Michigan Guard father who is so intense he can carve a canoe out of a tree with just a toothpick and his bare teeth. "Foodies Rush In" is a story that proves that love can happen for anyone, even if your heart is broken and you're starting over. Even if you have a crazy family. Even if you're a nerd more comfortable with the recipe for a great chicken piccata than a recipe for a real relationship. If Iron Chefs can create delicious onion-flavored ice cream, then maybe two misfits can find the right recipe for love.

This is a great beach book that proves that you can find love again even if you think you it is too late to find love. The book introduces you to Dana who is a single mom who's ex-husband left her and their two kids to start a new life with a new expected wife. She thinks that there is nothing out there and she started to think that it is okay to not love again. Until she went to Vegas for a food conference and met Theo where an impromptu marriage happens. Luckily what happens in Vegas, didn't stay in Vegas. By chance both Theo and Dana not only live in the same state but within 30mins away from each other. The book is about their short courtship and all the wonderful/colorful characters in their lives. This is truly a laugh out loud book and one that can actually show you that love can be found especially when you are not expecting it. I can't wait to read other books by Mrs. Eby - what a great find!
