Foolish Behaviour

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Rod Stewart followed the faux-disco trash of Blondes Have More Fun with Foolish Behaviour, which sanded out most of the character of the previous album. The result was a bland but professional -- even at their worst, Rod and his band are always professionals -- collection, mainly comprised of dance-oriented, lightly synthesized pop
ock. The passionless "Passion" was the hit, but the only worthwhile song was the gorgeous "Oh God, I Wish I Was Home Tonight," which has the clever wit and self-depreciating melancholy of his finest work.

Foolish Behaviour? Maybe, But Oh So Much Fun

I remember that "Passion" used to be placed on jukeboxes in Black establishments back when the music industry used such methods to distribute new tunes. But, it was the "B" side to "Passion" that turned out to be the hit, at least in the jook joint I hung out in, and that song was the rockabilly romp, "Better Off Dead"....PEACE.

    Give it a chance

Songs like "So soon we change" and "Somebody special" are lost gems in the Stewart catalog. For those of us not old enough to be around during the 70's, the reggae and 80's pop feel of these songs as well as the album as a whole is really enjoyable for listeners brought up on 80's and 90's radio. It was a wise idea to issue this as a deep discounted disk, so more people will take a chance on this over looked record.
