Ever wonder how Italian sounds with a Southern drawl?

Bella Rossi's life is just starting to get interesting. When her Italian-turned-Texan parents hand over the family wedding-planning business, Bella quickly books a Boot-Scootin' wedding that would make any Texan proud. There's only one catch--she doesn't know a thing about country music. Where will she find a deejay on such short notice who knows his Alan Jackson from his George Strait? And will Bella ever get to plan her own wedding?

Fun, fresh, and full of surprises, this flavorful combination of Italian and Tex-Mex highlights the hilarity that ensues when cultures clash.

"I fell in love with the Rossi clan, who feel as passionately about their pizza as Texans do about chili. Add a hunky cowboy with a slow Southern drawl, and you've got a recipe for one terrific story."--Virginia Smith, author, Stuck in the Middle

"A charming tale about stumbling upon love and finding a bit of your true self along life's journey. This fun read makes you grateful for the truly important things in life."--Megan DiMaria, author, Searching for Spice and Out of Her Hands

Janice Thompson is a seasoned romance author and native Texan. An experienced wedding coordinator herself, Thompson brings alive in her books the everyday drama and humor of getting married. She lives in Texas.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Bella Rossi is determined to make her parents' wedding-planning business a success, but her first booking requires a country-and-western theme. Unfortunately, Bella's Italian parents have kept her knee-deep in Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, totally out of touch with the realm of Johnny Cash. She sets out to find a DJ who can handle the job—and finds the perfect man for the wedding and possibly for her. VERDICT Bella's quirky, crazy family life adds humor to this modern love story. A light but satisfying series debut that will appeal to fans of Kristin Billerbeck.\

    could not finish it!'!

It was free so no complaint on the cost! I truly liked the start of the story BUT about midway the story was lost and so was I! The storyline became very diluted by christian frivolous pushing! Not against religion in the least but the synopsis said NOTHING about it being of that genre. I could not finish it, and I CARED nothing for the characters by the middle of the book! I would not recommend this book!

    WONDERFUL!!!

I downloaded this first book in the series for free and then immediately had to buy books 2 and 3. There is nothing better than reading a book and feeling like you are home again at your family's kitchen table listening to long since passed grandparents... nothing better than reading a book and laughing out loud and then crying happy tears of joy right along with the characters... The Weddings by Bella Series did that for me!!!!!!! You can't help but have a huge craving for books 2 and 3 as soon as you finish book 1. Be prepared to laugh out loud and if you are in public when doing so, proudly lift up the book and say "you gotta read this!"

    Would Not Read Again

Even though I liked this book, I would not read it again. I agree with the other reviewers, it had too much religion in it. I felt like it WAS preachy at times and I don't like that. I respect ALL religions equally but I don't like the fact that nowhere does it warn us about it. I probably would have passed on this book as well if I would have known about it.

On another note, I don't think the story was developed well enough. If it was supposed to be a romantic story/novel I feel like the relationship between the two main characters was not developed enough. It seemed to me like they met, barely spent time together, and Boom! they're in love. I would not really recommend this book.

If you're looking for a Christian chick lit... maybe not even then

the first few chapters were light & entertaining enough, but it soon got very repetitive and in the 2nd half of the book it felt like every other paragraph was about how great God is and how everyone should just listen to God and trust in God, God in his mysterious ways always works things out, etc. etc. I guess if you're looking for a book for teenage girls to read for Bible Study then maybe this would work? Otherwise skip it.

    Easy, Cute Read

This is a very cute book. Doesnt really take much thought. Very easy read. I purchased the second one and am almost finished. It does get a little preachy, but if you dont mind that, then you will enjoy this.

I didnt get thru the book

I have to say that this book was very long winded. A lot of needless information about her family that has nothing to do with the story. It was like Bella's family and Jenna friend was the main story and her romance with Dwayne is a side story. I know this book is free and becouse of that I'm not that upset about how unfulling it turned out to be. I hope this help any who would like to read this. I would say its a good clean book for any one who is young(pre teens or teens) who wants to try out reading romance novels.

    Couldn't finish it.

I normally power through books just to give them a true chance, but this one was not worth it. I'm sure it might be a nice change of pace if I were a devout christian to read a book that mentions the Lord or praying at least every other page, but it was distracting and didn't drive the story. Nothing did and that was the ultimate problem. Too much development of the side characters and not enough protaginist interaction. We romance readers want romance and a storyline, and this one just couldn't connect it all together.

Cute story but too much religion!

I enjoyed it but i could've done with out the religious stuff, not my thing. I did purchase the other two books. I recommend this book but keep in mind that it has alot of religious reference.

    Too long...too much extra stuff!

I think that this book had A LOT of extra stuff thrown in just to make the book longer. I found myself skipping pages just to keep the storyline moving along at something other than a snails pace. I thought that we got introduced to too many story lines and none of them really got fully developed. I was interested in the main story line about "boy meets girl" but even that was a bit slow and not developed completely. This book was decent and I did finish the book, however, it just didn't make a lasting impression and I would not recommend this book to my friends unless their Nook was empty of other books.

Fun ... but particularly for SE TX people!

Loved reading this book. Interesting characters and enjoyed all the local landmarks. Finished it on a rainy, lazy day and it was perfect.

    Boot Scootin Good Time

Bella Rossi, a 29-year-old Italian, transplanted to Texas, meets a handsome cowboy in a hilarious moment of mistaken-identity. What ensues is comedic and romantic. How can Bella run her family's wedding planning service when she has no idea about themed weddings? Especially a country one?

When Italian meets Texan, sparks fly, hilarity ensues, and the reader is left with a stitch in their side. Thank God for friends and chivalrous cowboys!

Janice Thompson does not fail to deliver a boot-stomping good time with FOOLS RUSH IN! A thoroughly enjoyable read.

    Sweet and Simple

Although I wish the author had went into more details about Bella's love life, I still will probably go on to read the next in the series. I absolutely loved the detail she put into her family and the Neeley family. But, again, not enough romance.
