Meet Joe, the ill-fated tour guide at the center of a story that beings with the death of Abraham Lincoln, at Joe's hands.

There are strange happenings going on at Dactyl, Inc., the world's first and only time travel tourism company. So strange that Joe, a tour guide, is promoted to the new position of Chief of Probes. His first probe: find out who's been traveling back in time and torturing his boss in rather disturbing ways.

Joe finds himself catapulted from his dull life into a surreal journey where a blind hog-tying monkey is one of the sanest creatures he meets. Traveling through a past where the only thing that changes the present is death, while dealing with the fabric of space-time slowly unraveling, Joe stumbles into the middle of events that threaten both the Earth's future and past.

Editorial Reviews

sffworld.com
"I must say this was the weirdest book I have ever read...The whole book is just crazy, bizarre, at times insane, but it is definitely something I couldn't put down...By the end of the book, I was wondering what paths I have chosen and how my choices have affected others...a definite must read."

Funniest time travel book I've ever read!

This is the best, and funniest, novel that I've read in a long time. Joe, the main character, really makes the book. I'm a sucker for self-deprecating characters that are a bit out of their head and really love the way that Joe describes his world. Highly recommended!

    A Great Read

The best thing about this book is that truly anyone can find something they like about it. It's funny and interesting, appealing to both sci-fi fans and people who have never picked up a sci-fi book in their life. Genoa's style is incredibly tight and witty, and he moves through the story quickly as to always keep you entertained. I highly recommend this book - buy it for yourself or as a gift for someone who wants to fall into a fun, exciting, hilarious adventure.

    Insane Romp

This book can best be described with one word: Bizarro! Fans of weird, cult/underground type writers will love this book. And a lot of mainstream fiction fans will also probably like it too since the writing itself isn't experimental at all, and the funny stuff will be funny to anyone who's breathing.

Chris Genoa's first book is a gem

This book was entertaining and it made me think about the choices I've made in my own life.

    Brilliant! Funny! And completely original.

You will not read a more original, intelligent, comical book this year. A great journey that is easy to pick up. It's like the humor and absurdity of 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' meets the tragic adventures of Donleavy's 'The Ginger Man' and Beckett's 'Murphy' with the best imagination and storybuilding of anything written by modern authors such as Will Self and David Foster Wallace. Only it's nothing like any of those. A great read.
