Overview

Struggling artist Avery Ross is barely scraping by. Bartending at a trendy New York City restaurant for an overbearing boss and two weeks away from losing her apartment to a condo developer, she's desperate for a break. So when she's offered a temporary housesitting job, she takes it.

Living at one of the poshest addresses in Manhattan is like entering a new world--one that catapults her into the orbit of billionaire Dominic Baine, the darkly handsome, arrogantly alpha resident of the building's penthouse. What begins as a powerful attraction soon explodes into a white-hot passion neither can deny.

Yet as scorching as their need for each other is, Avery doesn't expect Nick's interest in her to last. Nor does she dare to dream that the desire she feels for this scarred, emotionally remote man could deepen into something real. For Avery has secrets of her own--and a past that could destroy her . . . and shatter everything she and Nick share.

FOR 100 DAYS is the first novel in a passionate new contemporary romance trilogy from New York Times and #1 international bestselling author Lara Adrian.

From the ARC of the first of the MB series all those years ago - geez, almost 10! - I've enjoyed reading her books, and now Lara Adrian has branched out into a more erotic line. Although why anyone would think it a stretch, I don't know. One of the reasons the paranormal genre exploded the way it did was because they were sexier than most romances coming out in the early 2000s. Believe me, I'm a bookseller...I should know. I enjoyed this story although I thought Avery was a little negligent about her duties as an apartment sitter, disappearing for days or weeks at a time! Still, if you had the delicious Mr B distracting you, I guess it's understandable. Lots and lots of sex make this a steamy read, but the couple's very real chemistry leaps off the page. I'm intrigued to find out more of his back story so will be ready for the 2nd installment to heat up the winter nights upon its release. Good job, Lara!

This was the first Lara Adrian book I've read and i did enjoy it. However, i wish it had more substance. From the Facebook post the author released that made me want to read it it seemed more like a romance story between a struggling artist and a billionaire, both with secrets, i knew there would be a great deal of sex, but i get the book and there's a mature audience warning on the back so anyway i gave it a chance and its frustrating because there is a lot of potential fora really good story to be told but by the end the huge issues of Avery needing her OWN job and Her OWN PLACE TO LIVE! are unresolved!!! IN reality, what is Nick giving her a damn allowance or are we supposed to believe that since she quit her job, she's been living on $3,500.00 and just will continue to do so?! Its extremely infuriating and i expected these things to be dealt with before the end of the book, but nope. Is this man going to start giving her an allowance because it seems in the next book they're about to jet off somewhere together again..and when they come back is she moving in with him, because the owner of her apartment sitting job is coming home. If the next book actually has more story of Avery, nick, and friends, I'll keep reading, but Lara needs to make Avery into a human being and not just Nicks sex partner as they're leary to even use the term girlfriend and boyfriend for goodness sake.

Having read Lara Adrian's paranormal novels in the past, I expected to find her newest work along the same, or similar lines. Silly me! To say that "For 100 Days" is a slight detour for this author is a minor understatement. I hesitate to use the term "erotica," because of the negative stereo-types that can be applied to it; the positive words associated with the definition could and should be considered true: steamy, arousing, sexual, etc. An author cannot change writing styles that much therefore, there is still the same obvious attention to detail and the descriptive writing that is so prevalent in Ms. Adrian's other works. The characters, especially the main characters Avery and Nick, are strong personalities with great emotional depth. I loved reading the scene describing their first meeting - such heat generated with a minimum of words to describe a short period of time. I did not believe that meeting could be topped, yet their second encounter at the museum and each time Avery and Nick enteract for the remainder of the novel seemed to generate sparks. The dialogue between all the characters sparkled, it is by turns sassy, witty and sharp, or melancholy and poignant as the mood dictates. The only "downer" was reading the last paragraph, and discovering that "For 100 Days" is only the first book in a series. The upside - knowing that I get to revisit Avery and Nick again in the near future. I was given an ARC by the author for an honest and unbiased review.

I absolutely LOVE ALL of Lara Adrian books!! I was surprised with the deviation from her usual writing style, however this contemporary romantic/thriller was just as STEAMY, SEXY and HOT as her Midnight Breed Series. I did struggle with the first chapter - it felt choppy & slow I had a hard time getting engaged in the story. However, after the second chapter, I couldn't put it down! This book reminded me of a HOTTER & BETTER version of 50 Shades of Grey. I received a compimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I love Lara Adrian's books! This HOT contemporary is a little different from what she usually writes, but just as good as we've all come to expect from her writing. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the rest of this series. Avery Ross is barely making it in her life. She is struggling as an artist and she just found out that she has to move out of her apartment. The one thing that she does have going for her is a full time job at a local restaurant, even if she does hate her boss. Being asked to apartment sit for a complete stranger sets her life in motion for things that she has never seen or done before including falling in love, but her past is going to catch up to her and most likely destroy the only good thing that she has had in her life in very long time. Dominic Blaine works hard for his money. Money that he invests wisely, but enjoys just the same. He lives his life driving fast cars, chasing beautiful women and making large amounts of money, but finding Avery was a surprise because she is different from the women he usually dates. Their attraction is powerful and sucks them both in immediately, but Nick is emotionally remote and doesn't open up easily and Avery is hiding secrets from her past both which can destroy all that they have come to share. I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

I actually really loved this book except for the fact that it ended in a cliff hanger. I wasn't expecting it from this author. Knowing that the 2nd book is going to be another cliff hanger has me disappointed as well. BUT the book was awesome and definitely worth the read. I'll just have to wait on the 2nd book until the 3rd comes out then read them together.

I am the first one to say that I'm not much of a "first person" book reader, but this book is fanfreakintastic. I couldn't put it down. I love Lara Adrian's other series as well. This will absolutely be added to my collection.

Midnight Breed by this author being one of my favourite PNR series, I was keen to venture in this new series of a different genre. It didn't disappoint. Nick is a charismatic and enigmatic billionaire. He commands attention wherever he goes and always goes after what he wants. Avery is a hopeful artist who works as a bartender to make ends meet. She is on the down and out, on the verge of being homeless. She gets a lucky break when asked to look after a client's apartment while she is away on business. On Avery's first visit to the apartment, she bumps into Nick. Literally! She is speechless whilst he stares at her with no reservation whatsoever. Things start to sizzle between them on their next encounter. Neither of them can deny the attraction to each other. They both appear to be damaged but neither of them is willing to reveal any secrets. They end up spending more and more time together and have some very sensual and steamy moments. It doesn't feel like just sex anymore and Avery feels cornered as she hasn't really told Nick the truth about herself. She is worried about what would happen if he was to find out about her unpleasant past. When Avery plucks up the courage to own up, she is surprised at Nick's reaction. Just when they think that they might be able to move forward and maybe explore what's really going on between them, something else crops up. Is Avery going to come clean and confide in Nick? Avery has a trust issue whereas Nick values trust. I like Nick's intensity, determination and the caring attitude that he hides behind his tough exterior. Avery is independent even when her past traumatic experience haunts her. This story is well balanced. It's full of twists and turns. Romantic and hot. Some of Avery's past has come to light but very little about Nick's. This first part of the trilogy ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, enough to pique my curiosity about what's coming next! This is an interesting storyline and a well written novel which I would recommend to those who like intrigue, suspense, romance and hot sex. I received a complimentary ecopy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This read was a great start to a new series. Lara Adrian has never disappointed when it comes to strong characters and a well written story. I have a feeling that Avery and Nick will keep readers engaged with the chemistry, suspense and those HOT.....whew....encounters. Looking forward to the next installments.

I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. 'For 100 Days' by Lara Adrian is book one in "For 100 Days" series. This is the story of Avery and Dominic Baine. Their story will continue to the next book and so forth since this is a trilogy. But no real cliffhangers for the ending of this book. I really wanted to give it 3.5 stars but since that wasn't an option I went with 4 stars. Avery is working at a bar and struggling to be a artist...then one day she was asked to apartment sit for a few months. Which Avery does and right away she bumps into Dominic. This starts a fantasy life of sort for her when she starts to have a relationship with Dominic. We find that both seem to have things they are not coming forward with to each other. It seems there might be more to Dominic then what we know. I enjoyed this book and happy to give a review.

Oh My! Is all I could say when I read the excerpt... and was totally looking forward to reading the book & it did not disappoint! It is truly a page turner, once you start you can't stop! Once I started reading I had to keep turning the page to find out happens next. The book made me laugh, made me mad & cry. Lara does a good job at pulling you into the story and you just can't help but love Avery from the start. And Dominic Baine... Yum! The man is hot, HOT, HAWT! I will admit that its a bit predictable but I enjoyed the ride all in the same! Some of twist and turns leave you dumbfounded and let's not talk about the cliff hanger! Hello!!! I am totally looking forward to Nick and Avery's next adventure!!!! I have been a fan of Lara Adrian since I read Kiss of Crimson, Dante is by far my favorite warrior of her Midnight Breed Series. For 100 days is written differently and there is no paranormal but I loved it! Something new, different and refreshing from Lara! A MUST READ! ***I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.***

This was my first book by Lara Adrian & while I thought the story line was good I felt it a little odd that it was written in first person, made the story not flow as smoothly. I liked Avery & Nick but I do feel this story has been covered a lot recently. It ends on a cliffhanger that I felt sorta came out of left field but will keep me coming back for the next book!! Advanced Reader Copy provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Her mom saved her but at what cost. Avery's life is nothing but struggles and now is losing her apartment. Needing a new place to stay she is fortunate to meet Claire who needs someone to watch her apartment. Avery meets Nick Baine and life instantly changes. Nick and Avery instantly connect. Can Avery trust Nick not only with her heart but with her past? Amazing read and can't wait for more!

REVIEW PROVIDED BY: Kelly NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 WOWZA!!! That was my first thought when I found out the Ms. Adrian was writing a new series. So of course when the opportunity came up to review For 100 Days there was no way I could say no. I had to see what Ms. Adrian could do with an Erotica Romance. Ms. Adrian didn’t disappoint!!!! For 100 Days is written in first person which I don’t read a lot of but was done great!! While we don’t get an in depth view Nick we learn a lot about Avery. We also learn that there is a lot in Avery’s past that we don’t know about. We get to experience Nick though Avery’s eyes and of course that makes us all love him even more. I really enjoyed the storyline of these two. The pull between them is wonderful, yet both are holding something back. Something that each is afraid will push the other away. It will be interesting to see where Nick & Avery go over the course of the next two books but one thing is for sure it is going to be a wild ride!! Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Lara Adrian in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.

Avery´s having a hard time, and to top it all off she´s about to lose her apartment. WIth nowhere to stay, a golden opportunity to house sit is just what she needs. When a chance encounter in the house elevator puts her face to face with a gorgeous man she has no idea what this will mean for her. Billionaire Dominic is used to get what he wants, when he wants it, but the woman he runs into isn´t about to fall at his feet. When he can´t get enough of her, he´ll have to decide if he´s willing to put up with her secretive side and trust her. Or if Avery´s ready to trust him. Will it end when her months in the house is up? Contemporary romance, feelings and smutty fluff in a great combo, first in a three part serial and I can´t wait for the next installment!

Lara Adrian never disappoints! Overall I loved the story and I can't wait for the next part. Hopefully we will get some more insight into Nick's past with the next book. There were a couple of things that caused me to shake my head, but they didn't really take away from the story.

For 100 Days, A 100 Series Novel,  Lara Adrian   Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre:  Romance  I love Lara’s Midnight Breed novels and looked forward to this venture into contemporary romance. I had vowed to stay away from the Fifty type trilogy reads, having found so many that are pale imitations, or simply focused on sex and not the story behind it. Still, Love Lara’s book so couldn’t resist this. And how glad I am that I asked for it – its a fabulous read, hot sex, great characters and a terrific story full of secrets to come out promising the wonderful drama filled reads for the next two books. Of course, here we come to my pet hate – next book is this winter, and final one not til next spring.  I’m “in” the story now, really immersed into what happens with Avery and Nick, wanting to know more, what’s going to happen when Claire comes back, where will Avery live, what's the secret that Nick is hiding, what else has Avery kept from him, how does Kathleen fit in to the story....so many questions right now but I know from past experience that desire to know more will have waned when books two and three are released. I really wish all parts were out at once, that way I can read straight through and enjoy the story so much more. So if like me you’re in a bit of a FoG funk, tired of reading the same old story re-churned don’t ignore this, Lara has come up with something that still in that type of format, but which is fresh and original, with fabulous lead characters in Avery and Nick, but with some good secondary characters too, Avery’s friend Trina (? think that was her name), Jared the artist, Avery’s mum, Claire who owns the flat – will she be a bigger part of the next book or just a convenient person to let Avery be housed near Nick? What about Kathleen? I feel she’s got a big part to play – well, hope so anyway :-) There’s some very erotic and steamy sex here but backed up with a story that will have you wanting more..now dammit!! Buut..got to wait :-( The saving grace is that it ends on a natural breakpoint, not an awful cliffhanger. Stars: Five, a fabulous read that left me wanting the next books now. ARC received from Netgalley and publishers for review purposes.

Having been an avid fan of Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed, I was excited at the thought of something new and erotic from this exceptionally talented author. However with that said, this is very much a mixed review for a number of reasons. 1) I seriously struggle with stories written totally in the first person;   2) I’m not a fan of the latest trend of three book series focusing on one couple;   3) Cliff-hangers are the absolute pits!   While the subject matter was good, even if not necessarily very original; two tortured souls with emotional and physical scars, and hiding secret pasts that cause them both to build walls to protect their hearts. The book was too long and drawn out for my taste, when I knew it was only going to leave me with more questions than answers in the end.   Will I read the next book? Undoubtedly.   Why? Because that’s the whole pretext of this type of trilogy; suck the reader in.

Lara Adrian's For 100 Days is a case in point in how good writing defies genre classification. Populated with her signature alpha males and equally strong women Ms. Adrian takes her considerable writing expertise and puts it to the test in a contemporary erotic suspense setting. A hero and heroine whose intense and barely controlled attraction test their trust and blur their firm boundaries on every possible level feature in this novel. Sensuality in abundance and quick paced story development will draw readers in and adds another incredible read to Lara Adrian's extensive and renown collection of work. *I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.* *While this book can be read as a stand alone this work is a continuation of an ongoing story line.*

Finally! I've been waiting to find another series that is as exciting like Crossfire and The Fixed Trilogy! Dominic is a damaged billionaire and Avery is a damaged starving artist. Avery has had everything go wrong that possibly could go wrong. She's about to be evicted from her apartment and as luck would have it, a regular customer at the high end bar Avery bartends at needs a houssitter. Little did Avery know that the apartment she would be housesitting happens also be where Dominic lives. A crash meeting, literally, and it's lust at first sight. Both Dominic and Avery know very little about each other. It was suppose to be just one night. That one night turns into more. Averys told little lies about herself since she didn't plan on seeing him again. Dominic is just a very private person who happens to be damaged by something from his past that he refuses to talk about. They are both fumbling through a relationship neither know how to handle. This is book one of three and while there isn't closure with book one, there isn't a huge cliffhanger either. That still doesn't mean I absolutely can't wait for book two to come out! I can't wait to see where the author will steer this story. ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
