More About This Book

Overview

Humorous, poignant and unpredictable love story; the reader laughs, cries and rides the emotional roller coaster all the way to the shocking end.

For Crying Out Loud centers around a one-damn-thing-after-another, conflicted modern-day relationship. Humorous, poignant and unpredictable, the reader laughs, cries and rides the emotional roller coaster with the two main characters. Unique in its style, Alex and Marissa are both separately relating the story of their budding romance to their mutual therapist. Twists, turns and shocking surprises will keep the reader glued to every page. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill romance, For Crying Out Loud will leave you crying for "More!"

For crying out loud, read this book!

It is a page-turner. If you have ever been in love or ever hope to be you can relate. The story is intriguing and unfolds with small surprises. Can¿t wait to read the second novel in this series ¿ For the Love of God ¿ coming this month.

Awesome! Can't believe anyone thought otherwise.

Absolutely awesome book. The style is very unique with the characters going back and forth telling their different sides of the story to the same therapist. Whitaker has a quirky, offbeat sense of humor that had me smiling throughout the book and laughing out loud at times. Also shed a few tears here and there. But that's what I like in a book - running the whole spread of emotions. I fell in love with Alex and Marissa the same as I did when I read Maupin's 'Tales of the City' and Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta books. I miss them and can't wait for the second book! If you love series reading then this is one for your shelves.

Did not Enjoy This One at All

A friend of mine was given this book and loaned it to me. I thought it was one of the worst books I ever tried to read. I could hardly finish it. There were no surprises, twists or turns. From the very beginning it was apparent where the plot was headed and where it would go.

    Try it, you'll like it!

A friend was talking about For Crying Out Loud so I bought a copy. I enjoyed watching the relationship of the two main characters evolve. It was entertaining, fast-paced, thought provoking, and told in a casual, conversational style. It was so real, I felt as if I was eavesdropping. I look forward to more from CP Whitaker.

A PENALTY RATHER THAN A PRIZE

This book is SO predictable! It's beginning is feeble and, by the last page, it is severely crippled. The plot is so thin as to be transparent. The only way I could have disliked this book any more, were if I had actually paid money for it. It was given to me from someone who had gotten it as a 'prize' while attending a home decor party, which again proves the old adage, 'It's the thought that counts'.

    One you've got to read!

I enjoyed this book on so many levels! On one hand it is an easy, quick and enjoyable romp through the trials and tribulations of Alex and Marissa's relationship. On the other hand it is a very deep and thoughtful expose` on the effects outside influences and prejudices can have on even the strongest bond between two people. Whitaker is an extraordinary story teller. I knew it was a GOOD book when I found myself laughing out loud one moment and tearing up the next. The story unfolded like a movie inside my head. I highly recommend this book.
