It seems when the lottery in the United States gets over $100 million many people in this country begin to buy a ticket and dream about what they would do if they won the jackpot. This book is about a 70 year old man who happens to win that kind of jackpot. If you are one of the persons who have bought a ticket and dreamed of winning that kind of money and enjoy a good mystery, this book is for you.

The book, “For the Love of Money”, describes what happens to the Dover family when the senior Dover, Stan, wins a one hundred forty seven million dollar Power Ball Jackpot. The book begins when Sherry picks up the senior Dover, Stan, at a Casino in Tunica MS. It is the first time in 51 years of marriage that Stan has been unfaithful to his wife. When Sherry finds out Stan won the lottery she proceeds to blackmail him for one million dollars.
The book contains all the elements of a good murder mystery---adultery, blackmail, murder, attempted murder. All the crimes are solved by a team made up of the Dover family.
In the Epilogue, the Dover Detective Agency is formed which sets the stage for my second book, about the work of the Dover Detective Agency. If you enjoyed this mystery, there is no doubt, you will also enjoy the second one.

About the Author

This work of fiction “For the Love of Money” begins a new phase of my life.
After retiring I was looking for something meaningful to do. Since I had been writing non- fiction for over forty years, writing seemed to be the thing for me to do. However, I wanted something different. So, I turned to fiction and to tell you the truth, I never had as much fun in my life as I did writing “For the Love of Money.” I have started the second book which will explore the work of the Dover Detective Agency that opened for business at the end of “For the Love of Money.”.

The best day of my life was April 8th 1974 when I married the former Pauline A. Thomas. After being married to Pauline (Polly) for 37 years, we have five children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Family has always been important to me and you can see that coming through in the book.

I graduated from Jonesboro High School, Jonesboro, AR: Received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Religion from Arkansas College in Batesville, AR: And received a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN.

In my first career, I served as a United Methodist Minister for 44 years. During that time I was lucky enough to develop many good and faithful friends which I shall always cherish.
