I really enjoyed this book. Although it dtarts off kinda slow, don't give up. The more you keep going the better it gets. By the end your on the edge of your seat. The sex between Sawyer and Aubrey was so hot. I look forward to reading more from Mimi.

Intriguing and gripping story. Abandoned by her mother, Aubrey is on the run with her sister Bell. She is not Bell's legal guardian, so she must constantly be on guard and keep on the move to avoid detection by the law. When you are 21 with a 7 year old how do you do this? You lie. You lie about your age; you tell everyone you are married and you tell them Bell is your daughter. She has been doing this now for three years and is tired of running. With the support of her uncle and grandparents, she is struggling by...

... and then comes Sawyer. Instant mutual attraction, guarded feelings, and the need to continue to lie, wear her down when all she wants to do is be honest.

This gripping story touches the heart. Normally, Mimi Strong's stories have a lighthearted side as well as angst. This story probes deeper into the psyche of a young woman on the brink. The awesome responsibilities of parenthood for a teenager, and a chilling secret she keeps from everyone to protect the mother who abandoned her.

    A must read! Bravo, Mimi!

Where to begin with this fantabulous book???? I don't know where to begin because it was all so well written, every page drew me further and further in!

And Sawyer...oh my...would I like to meet him in a dark alley (for other purposes) ;) hehehe.

Aubrey and Sawyer's development in relationship has some definite tension in it but that it what makes a book all the sexier! Aubrey definitely has had to grow up at an early age and work through past troubles. These past troubles appear to keep her from letting guards down and Sawyer is all about peeling away the layers, one step at a time. Sawyer is so patient with Aubrey, but yet lets his dominating side take over, which is just what Aubrey needed to get over her past.

Absolutely do not want to give away many teasers here, but I can say...Mimi Strong definitely works her magic in the "steamy scenes" in this book!! I am so grateful for the opportunity to review this book as an ARC from Mimi and look forward to many more to come!!!

I loved the story. It had a strong female protag, a hot good guy that was supposed to be bad but wasn't, and heartbreak and triumph.

    Wow couldn't put it down!
I was getting flustered with Aubrey and her holding Sawyer arm's length away when he clearly was a good guy. Aubrey's childhood was a mess to say the least but she is actually a bad ass when you see all she's been through. Throughout the book I was just hoping that she would totally let down her guard and let Sawyer in. Not sure how much Sawyer will take before he just gives up. Lots of Hot steamy juicy sex. Fabulous ending.

    Quotes:

"Are you a happy girl with a sad face, or are you sad through and through?"

"Just call me the Redneck Whisperer."

"He's been watching you like you're HBO."

"You're argumentative, and tough like a microwaved steak"

"When I looked at Aubrey's eyes, so gray and pure, I could feel the pull of the moon."

"First the ice cubes, then ring the dinner bell."

I fell in love with the characters in this story. This story was actually a little tame for Mimi Strong. I have gotten spoiled with her books being humurous and very kinky. This book showed me just how talented Mimi Strong is. She is capable of writing all kinds of characters and making you fall in love with them.
Aubrey is just 21 years old but she has been experienced more in her life than most 60 year olds would go through in their lives! She has had to take care of herself and others. She rises to the challenge. She had to learn some lessons the hard way and she isn't good at judging people! So when Sawyer comes into her life she has to make some big decisions....will she let someone in that will show her the love she so desperately wants and needs?
I cried reading this book and I was very emotionally invested! A great emotional read!

Cheers to the girl who doesn't look perfect but still is beautiful to her man.
Cheers to this not having to do with a 'billionaire' to fall in love but a normal guy who is trying to make a living for himself.
Cheers to normal people coming together and having to work for each others love and attention.
I love how even though it's so easy to give up on each other they choose each other & fight,; OH! Some of the best parts
are the steamy make out/foreplay/im not ready/holymoly sessions.
    Love this book!!

This is a story of a courageous young lady that has to take on the weight of the
world. What she goes thru to survive and just blend in will leave you in awe of
her. And then comes a tattooed up bad boy, Sawyer was the last thing she needed
or so she thought!!, He turns out to not be the bad boy of her first impression.
He will stop at nothing to get her to trust him but with everything that has
happened to her his efforts will be met with resistance. When you read about her
life and the secrets she's running from you will be surprised that someone so
young has done so well. This story was masterfully written by the amazing Mimi
Strong who shows another side to get talent. Such a diverse artist. TCroy

I liked this book just fine, but it was missing that "wow" factor that I tend to associate with Mimi Strong's books. If you want to know what I mean, go check out my review of "We Are Made Of Stardust." Anyway, the story was well-written as expected, but for some reason I just couldn't really connect. I can't exactly put my finger on what it was, so I'm having a hard time writing this review.

I think the closest I can get to how I feel is that I wanted more to happen with the story. I felt that Aubrey's (female MC) big reveal at the end was a little lackluster after all of the buildup throughout the entire book. I was expecting something WAY more dramatic than the truth that actually came out. But, in a way, this was more realistic. And it kind of described Aubrey to a tee. She was constantly making a bigger deal out of things than needed to be made, and was constantly trying to push people away because of it. She was really her own biggest problem, so it kind of rang true to the story. Which brings me back to square one. I'm conflicted about how I feel about this book. I liked it, but I wanted more - when it was hot, I wanted cold - when it was bland I wanted spicy. Are you as confused as I am?

Anyway, I did really like the character of Sawyer. He was a really nice guy that wouldn't let Aubrey push him away, not matter how hard she tried. He was very protective of her and went a long way out of his way to show her that she meant something to him, and that he wasn't going to go away. However, once again, I wanted a little more drama. Like a small part of me actually wanted Sawyer to cheat on Aubrey when he had the opportunity, just to shake things up a bit. There wasn't enough conflict, or ups and downs, or tension really to drive their relationship. It was mainly Sawyer trying to get close to Aubrey, and her trying to keep her distance.

Overall, I'm glad I read it, and I am still a 100%, super-huge fan of Mimi Strong and will continue to read everything she writes. Not every book is for everyone, and I'm thinking that may be the case here. This one just wasn't really my cup of tea, so to say. But, I do suggest that you give it a try and see if you like it. It is definitely worth the read just to see.

Review of For You by Mimi Strong This is a no spoiler review.

Review of For You by Mimi Strong
This is a no spoiler review.

Mimi Strong, what can I say about Mimi? She never, ever disappoints, EVER. For You is no exception. I absolutely adored this New Adult romance. It seems no matter what genre she is writing Mimi excels. I know, I know- get on with the book and quit reviewing the author!

For You was a nice change of pace from what I have been reading recently. (smut- don’t judge) Don’t let that lead you to believe that this book is free of panty-dropping good times, because with a character like Sawyer it’s an absolute MUST to have so panty-dropping. (Whew, is it getting hot in here?)  Let me sum Sawyer up in just a few  words: artist, musician, motorcycle riding, tattooed stud muffin. Oh, not to mention sweet, protective, and kind.  In love yet? I know I am!!

Aubrey is a struggling single mom with the weight of the world on her shoulders. Mimi did such an amazing job and bringing Aubrey to life. I swear I felt her all of her worries like they were my own. And boy was she stubborn! Thank goodness persistence  pays off in the end.

Something else about this book that I just have to mention is that Bell, Aubrey’s daughter, hasn’t been completely untouched by the things in their past. Even though it is heartbreaking to read some of the things little Bell goes through at school and the things that Aubrey deals with being a single mom, I really enjoyed that Mimi kept it ‘real’ in the fact that Bell wasn’t just an adorable kid that was all giggles and smiles with brave faces. She reacts like real kids do when their worlds are turned upside down time and time again - she acts out. And Aubrey reacts like a real mom would - she doubts everything she is doing and feels like a horrible mom. (That is something that EVERY mom can completely relate to… I freakin’ love it when I read a book and can say “yep, totally been there done that!”)

This is a complete and total FIVE stars for me, it’s also gone into my emergency I need a good read to get over the book hangover and/or good book drought list… which means I will be reading this one again!

I had the wonderful opportunity to read an ARC of this story and what can I say about this book?! It was fantastic! I felt a real connection with the lead characters of Aubrey and Sawyer. As a reader, I just felt for Aubrey with all the tragedies and sadness that she has dealt with in her life. At such a young age, she had to take care of her younger sister and never truly live a normal life. She did her best to deal with the situation and you just felt for her as you imagine the enormity of it all. Then out of the blue came Sawyer Jones who changes everything for her. Sawyer is completely lovable! He was funny, attractive, and wanted to make everything right for Aubrey. He wanted to fix everything in her life and save her. I couldn't get enough of Sawyer and his sea-life tattoos! The love scenes were hot and I felt the intensity coming out from my Kindle. I was so glad with the way that it ended but also sad that it was over.

Mimi did such a wonderful job with this story! She sucked you with the first chapter and I wanted more! I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. I felt a connection with Aubrey and Sawyer as they went through the ups and downs of their relationship. I felt like I was on the emotional rollercoaster with them. I laughed and got upset at the parts that needed those feelings. I loved the POV from Aubrey and Sawyer as it added more dimensions to the story. It was so full of laughter, passion, love, and angst. It had everything required for a great story! I love when I get emotionally invested in a book and lose myself in the story! I love love love this book!! I will definitely re-read this story again and recommend it to all! Mimi is such an amazing author and everyone should read this book and all of her others as well! A job well done Mimi!!! :)

    What a great story!
There many things I love about this novel. Love these two characters. We also get to see both main characters points of view.
Aubrey and Sawyer are made for one another. Aubrey is very guarded. She's been through so much in the past four years and had to take on an adult role so quickly. She doesn't want to make any mistakes or regrets.
Sawyer looks intimidating to those who don't know him, but has a good heart. He sees through the façade that Aubrey tries to carry on and pursues her. As the story goes on, all those walls Aubrey has surrounding her slowly start to come down.
I have read several of Mimi's stories and enjoyed each of them. This one is one of her best! Great job Mimi!

In so many of the romance novels I read you have a rich guy and a poor little girl. And it was nice to find a book that they were equals. Sawyer & Aubrey are a perfect match. Mimi Strong wrote an amazing book full of emotion. Love, hurt, anger...it was all there. I cried and I giggled. One quote in the book "Just call me the Redneck whisperer." had me laughing out loud...cause being from WV I am surrounded by rednecks. Some may even say I am one. :) Overall this book was great. It was a fast read with a lot of story. Loved it!
