Overview

On American Idol, Lambert proved that he could wail just as loud as Axl Rose and deliver vocals as tender as Jeff Buckley’s; and on the American Idols Live! tour, the flamboyant rocker turned David Bowie's "Fame" into a playful, sexual romp. Though Lambert's debut disc is still untitled, Rolling Stone reports the singer has divulged collaborations with producers -- Ryan Tedder (Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson), Claude Kelly (Lady Gaga), and Dr. Luke (Britney Spears, Katy Perry) -- via Twiitter.

Rolling Stone - Jody Rosen
The American Idol runner-up is on a mission to revive the camp theatricality of glam, one lip-liner stroke and upper-register operatic shriek at a time.

Adam Lambert is the outstanding new artist who was the star of American Idol this year! His beautiful vocals have been lauded by the top entertainers in the Music Industry. "To find a talent as exceptional as Adam Lambert is a rare and special event," says Simon Fuller, Creator and Executive Producer of American Idol and Founder & CEO of 19 Entertainment. "I am thrilled that American Idol was the platform for the world to discover this brilliant young man. He is unique and unforgettable and a certain star of tomorrow." Another quote, from Bryan May guitarist for Queen! "I am not kidding. I'm not easily moved to jelly by male vocalists ... but Adam's voice reaches out with sensitivity, depth, maturity, and awesome range and power which will make jaws drop all around the world. No doubt about it. The world of Rock has a bright new star."

I am a 54 year old woman married to an Army officer. I've loved Adam's voice and showmanship since the day he started on IDOL. He has become the new Madonna (and before her, Cher,) as being the consummate entertainer. The entire CD is worth listening to over and over again. I have used it for my water aerobics three times weekly since I bought it the day after the AMAs and I am STILL not bored. Every tune is a thought provoking or electrifying gem. I have a second CD in my car. You can't go wrong buying this CD unless you are tone deaf or emotionally dead.

Just heard 'For Your Entertainment' and it is FUNFUNFUN! Adam's voice doesn't do much soaring out into space on this one, but the beat is HOT, the mixing is so siiiiick, and the overall feeling is I GOTTA HEAR THIS AGAIN! Not such a bad thing for a first single. Congrats AL! It's AWESOME!

I love every single song on this album... his voice is amazing, one minute the beats make you want to get up and dance, and then the most beautiful ballads almost bring you to tears. It's Rock, Pop, Dance, all weaved together with a little of that theatricality we love about Adam... there is something here for any musical taste or any mood. Excellent, definately worth buying for fans who loved him on Idol, or anyone who enjoys catchy, current pop music with outstanding vocals. I am 35 years old and love this album, and so does my 7 year old neice and my 52 year old mom! Adam crosses all age barriers!!! Buy it!

This CD grabs your attention from the first track and never lets you go. There are songs to fit any mood you find yourself in. It's impossible not to want to dance to 'Music Again', 'Fever' and the title track, 'For Your Entertainment', while 'Soaked' and 'Broken Open' are soulful with soaring vocals that have to be heard to be believed. You will find yourself listening to this CD over and over, and discovering something new each time.

I had the opportunity of seeing Adam Lambert perform at the Pantages Theater in "Wicked." His talents are incredible and he is such a natural. Adam loves all kinds of music and it shows in this album. He doesn't get hung up on genre, he just loves music and after you hear him sing, you will too. What a set of pipes on this guy. The orchestration and arrangements, combined with Adam incredible voice make this a must have CD. I can't wait until his next one comes out because he'll have even more contol over the content. Mark my words, the sky is the limit for Adam! All this talent, fantastic looks, AND he's a wonderful person to boot! You go Adam!

This may be my favorite Idol alum album. The more and more I listen to this album, the more I like it. Adam has an amazing voice and imminently succeeds in bringing the glam edge back to pop-rock. This album is a great showcase of his amazing talent, both as a singer and as a performer. And there seems to be something for everyone . . . dance, pop, synth, ballads . . . it's the kind of album you can actually listen to from start to finish. Although other songs have gotten more attention (Music Again & For Your Entertainment), Track 3 (Whataya Want From Me) is an amazing ballad-like song, Track 4 (Strut) is quirky and fun, as is Track 11 (Sleepwalker).

I loved it! His voice is amazing and he had a pretty wide range on this CD. I think he did a fantastic job on it. The music did a good job of showcasing his vocal and musical range. Very well done.

An absolutely outstanding CD with one great track after another. I've listened to it at least hundreds of times and never tire of it. The music is syncretic and eclectic and would appeal to fans of various genres. And ages! I am the mom of a 16 y.o. boy and I like this CD even more than he does :)

I used to be a rock journalist but became very disenchanted with music in the late 90s/early 2000's. Boring. Predictable. Derivative. Then came Adam Lambert (and Lady GaGa) who made music fun and theatrical and dangerous and pushing the envelope crazy again. I love this disc, it's diverse and hot, catchy and deep. Everything you'd want. Adam Lambert has fans from teens to really old ladies (who think he reminds them of Elvis) and they're all cool, and this album has something for them all.

I may not agree with "all" of Adam Lambert but he is an exceptional talent. He has a great range in voice and music styles. I truly love this CD. It is one of those you can't get out of your head. With talent like this we should be seeing and hearing alot more of him!

I like every song on this album, something that rarely happens for me. Adam's voice is captivating and beautiful. I keep listening to the album over and over. I especially love his voice on "Soaked" and "Broken Open". Many songs on this album are very upbeat, great dance tracts. I reccommend it for all ages and to those who are fans of various musical styles. This is not your typical one style only album.

Although the cover photo reminds me of a picture of a drag queen taken at Olan Mills, the collection of songs for Adam's debut album are defintely crafted "for your entertainment." But what really makes this album unique is that an openly gay pop star does not shy away from his sexuality when he sings the lyrics of songs contributed by some of the best song writers in the business: Pink, Lady Gaga, and Linda Perry. Highlights include Lady Gaga's "Fever," a track about a man and the boy/man he lusts for, "the lights are on but your Mom's not home..;" and "If I Had You," a poignant song about how much fame can dilute what is truly important in life..someone significant to share all of life's blessings. This debut confirms that Adam is not a "flash in the pan" pop idol from Idol.

What a talent! There is no vocal style Adam Lambert cannot sing with ease. He is simply amazing! Some of his songs literally take my breath away. I rarely buy CDs, but this one is an experience worth buying!
