Meet the Author

Dr. Lonnie Barbach received her M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical social psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. She is now on the clinical faculty of the University of California Medical School in San Francisco and also has a private practice.     This is all about being a woman.

    This amazing book is for any woman who is curious about her sexuality and how to enhance her sexual experience. For Yourself is for YOU! It is all about you and your needs. It discusses the issues of masterbation and orgasm in a manner that is clear cut and straight forward. A woman is a sexual being, and in our society we are socialized to be ashamed and embarassed of it. This book allows you to celebrate and embrace your sexuality FOR YOURSELF.

    Read this book many years ago!!

    When I saw Lonnie Garfield Barbach on Oprah over 12 years ago! I still have the same copy and have told many women to read it. Its a great book for women to learn about there bodies and sexuality and how to teach there partners what they need to know!!

    A Classic in the Sexual Health Genre

    This book was groundbreaking when it first came out in the 1970's. It accurately and clearly describes women's sexuality, and, how to masterbate, i.e., do it "for yourself." This is information that is important, helpful, healthy, and true. This book remains current to this day because it is absolutely authentic. I think every woman should read this book!

    required reading for women AND MEN !!!!

    I read this book when it FIRST came out in the late 70's, and it changed my life. I learned here what I needed to know to begin a life of adventures into realms of pleasure undreamed.... 'not exagerrating'! I strongly believe that every MAN should read this book as well -- it should be handed out in high schools. I've passed it on to my daughters and many special friends. Even if you think your sex life is great, I believe this book will make it greater, deeper and more fun. And you won't miss out on things that everyone should know, but that most people don't.
