Over 200,000 copies sold in 18 languages.

Over the centuries, researchers have found bones and artifacts proving that humans like us have existed for millions of years. Mainstream science, however, has suppressed these facts. Prejudices based on current scientific theory act as a 'knowledge filter', giving us a picture of prehistory that is largely incorrect.

Scientific Establishment Found Guilty of Witholding Evidence

The evolutionists’ “knowledge filter” at work over the last 200 years has left us with a radically altered view of our human origins and antiquity. Since 1993, when the controversial book, Forbidden
Archeology, was first published it has shocked the scientific world with its extensive evidence for extreme human antiquity. It documents hundreds of anomalies in the archeological record that
contradict the prevailing theory and shows how this massive amount of evidence was systematically “filtered” out. This book puts all the “pieces” on the table. You can then judge for yourself how objective the scientific community is in its pursuit of knowledge!

Editorial Reviews

Graham Hancock
“One of the landmark intellectual achievements of the late 20th century…Sooner or later, whether we like it or not, our species is going to have to come to terms with the facts that are so impressively documented…and these facts are stunning.”
Dr. Siegfried Scherer
“Forbidden Archeology, written primarily for the layman, provides a critical review of evidence relevant to human evolution. In addition, the book will serve as a valuable resource of forgotten literature, which is usually not easily accessible. If it stimulates professional reinvestigation of reports not fitting the current paradigm on human evolution, Forbidden Archeology will have contributed to the advancement of knowledge of the history of mankind.”
Dr. Pierce J. Flynn
“I perceive in Forbidden Archeology an important work of thoroughgoing scholarship and intellectual adventure. Forbidden Archeology ascends and descends into the realms of the human construction of scientific ‘fact’ and theory: postmodern territories that historians, philosophers, and sociologists of scientific knowledge are investigating with increasing frequency. . . .
With exacting research into the history of paleoanthropological discovery, Cremo and Thompson zoom i
Dr. Phillip E. Johnson
“Forbidden Archeology is a remarkably complete review of the scientific evidence concerning human origins. It carefully evaluates all the evidence, including the evidence that has been ignored because it does not fit the dominant paradigm. Anyone can learn a great deal from the authors’ meticulous research and analysis, whatever one concludes about their thesis regarding the antiquity of human beings.”

During a 1989 sabbatical leave from Niagara University, I investigated philosophical problems arising from the interface of evolution theory and religious revelation, especially respecting the historicity of human first parents as depicted in Genesis. The 1993 publication of 'Forbidden Archeology' brought my attention to concerns about the manner in which the scientific community treats anomalous evidence of earlier than Late Pleistocene anatomically modern human beings. This, combined with a few apparently well-documented examples of anomalous finds, such as Reck's skeleton, the Castenedolo skeletons, and the Laetoli footprints -- plus a plethora of lesser known and sometimes less well-documented cases -- led me to the conclusion that there exists probable cause to have rational doubt about the current theory of human evolution. Chapter fourteen of my own 'Origin of the Human Species,' (second edition: 2003) discusses at length 'Forbidden Archeology's' contention that anatomically modern humans predated hominids from which evolutionary theory claims we descended. My book demonstrates that sound natural science is entirely compatible with an authentic reading of Genesis, including Adam and Eve's reality -- and this, without recourse to young-Earth creationism. While my thesis need not rely upon 'Forbidden Archeology's' claims, still, I considered its carefully documented analysis of the paleoanthropological record sufficiently credible to devote an entire chapter to analysis of its claims. I am grateful to Michael A. Cremo for his comments and suggestions during the writing of this chapter, which I include as a possible alternative scenario for human origins - one still consistent with belief in a single pair of historical first parents for the human race. We must recall that even a single instance of an anatomically modern human being prior to the Late Pleistocene period would be catastrophic to the current human evolution theory. The telling admission made in a review by the 'Social Studies of Science' (26:1 (1996): 207) that 'much of the historical material that they (Cremo and Thompson) resurrect has not been scrutinized in such detail before' should forewarn critics to beware of a priori dismissal of 'Forbidden Archeology's' claims concerning the early presence of true humans in the fossil record. 'Forbidden Archeology' explains how practical epistemological limitations place paleoanthropology in a category far removed from experimental science conceived as easily verifiable in a laboratory and universally replicable. These epistemological limitations, combined with Cremo and Thompson's extensive documentation of what appears to be anomalous evidence of true man living earlier than the Late Pleistocene period, renders credible the contention that, even in the early years of the 21st Century, educated persons can have rational doubts about the standard human evolution scenario. Indeed, the entire process of human origins might prove to be much more mysterious than atheistic Darwinians suppose. 'Forbidden Archeology' deserves careful consideration in any serious discussion of evolution and human origins.

I am thirteen years old and I am half-way through this book. I enjoy it immnsely, and I recommend it to anyone who loves history and is looking for facts, or rather, a theory of facts of the homosapien race and how it came to be.

If the so-called anomolies were only limited to a few, then the scientific establishment might have a case, but the sheer quantity of the evidence provided here certainly brings to our awareness the fact that science, as taught to us, does not have all the answers. Anybody still saying that ALL of these anomolies are hogwash appears really stupid! Get this book! If the full version is too daunting get the condensed paperback. It is a little bit dry, but worth the effort.

This is a good start. Even if only part of the conjecture holds. As of January 2001, three have been discovered in 80-120 feet of wateron ancient river courses just off the coast of India. They date from 9500 years ago. They were flooded by the rising seas when the ice sheets melted. (Gee, the FLOOD was natural!) These cities just doesn't fit in with current archeological thought. Oh well! The Science WILL evolve to capture the facts. What other wonders will we discover if we look and think? Only creationists will remain rectocephalic.

Forbidden Archaeology is a great catching title, but the books is repetitive and tedious. I highly respect the author and his point of view, but he as a writer, uh... The book needed graphs showing comparison and contrast; pictures of classifications, and if not available, at least drawings because words in the book per se, lack illustration. And, it is too old to argue: aren't new ideas about the field?. I hope there is a new edition with a plethora of revisions. Also, it is so sad to find out that even in the so respected scientific field such as archaeology, there is a mob and a gang of cheaters, as the author points out.

This is a thorough work with many interesting points about anomalous artifacts. This isn't for people without any knowledge of science. With a general knowledge everything is fine

Tuff read, very detailed, written by a professional for professionals, extremely well researched. And documented. Makes a most compelling scientific argument for the existence of modern man anywhere from 1million to 4million years ago using designed and made stone tools and fire.

This author should be applauded for exposing the fradulent theory of evolution that is being crammed down our Children's throats by the God-less academics out there as the Lie that it is. Teach Creation is schools!!!!

Cremo repeats the same old worthless arguments against the theory of evolution. Why does every reputable biologist in the world, with the exception of Michael Behe, embrace Darwinian evolution if it is so obviously wrong? Creationists are motivated by religion, not science. Save your money.
