The second McLeod brother historical fantasy is a terrific tal

The McLeod brothers (Fallon, Lucan and Quinn) were descendents from a cadre of warriors created by Druids to repel the Romans from Scotland and England. For three centuries the siblings hid from Deirdre who wants their magic. However in 1603, Lucan meets his soulmate (see Dangerous Highlander), but Quinn was captured by their enemy.

In Edinburgh Fallon meets and falls in love with Lady Larena Monroe. He is shocked to realize she is a warrior; the only female he ever met. She accompanies Fallon to the McLeod estate, a haven for warriors and Druids. As Deirdre assaults the stronghold, Fallon plans to rescue his brother, but first proposes to his beloved. She wants to say yes, but knows she conceals from her beloved a dark secret that will turn his love to loathing.

The second McLeod brother historical fantasy is a terrific tale with a nice twist that readers will know is coming yet Donna Grant makes the spin fun to follow. The story line is fast-paced and is more than just a middle book as Fallon's fate is decided. With Quinn still held captive by the obsessed Deirdre, sub-genre fans will be impatient for his Dark Sword legend as the audience anticipates his confrontation with his much stronger jailer.

    A SPELLBINDING HISTORICAL SCOTTISH ROMANCE!

FORBIDDEN HIGHLANDER by Donna Grant is a spellbinding historical romance set in 1603 Edinburgh, Scotland. It is the second in A Dark Sword Novel, but can easily be read as a stand alone. Some of the characters from the first book Dangerous Highlander reappear in this one also.It has danger, romance, sensuality, secrets, passion, demons, druids, an extremely evil witch who is after more power, dark magic, find their destinies, true love and a battle to overcome an ancient curse. The hero, Fallon is the eldest of the MacLeod brothers( Fallon, Lucan, and Quinn). We meet Lucan in Dangerous Highlander. Fallon is strong, handsome, is immortal due to his demon, drank to much to try to keep his demon at bay,is battling guilt from not being able to save his family, and falls for the beautiful Larena. The heroine, Larena,is beautiful, has a dark secret, fears for her life, needs the MacLeod clan to help her. For Larena is also has a demon, a female demon one of few, if not the only one known. She holds the secret to how to vanquish the evil druid who wishes to wreak havoc on earth and mankind.Sparks fly between Fallon and Larena for she is able to open his heart and his soul. The story is about Fallon and Larena and their quest to find true love. I would highly recommend this book especially if you enjoy romance, passion, dark, sensual and enchanting reading. It is fast paced page turning and will keep you on the edge of yours seat. I am waiting for the next installment to learn about the younger brother Quinn, who has been captured by the evil witch and the MacLeods out to free and destroy the evil witch. This book was received for review and details can be found at St. Martins Paperbacks and My Book Addiction and More.

    I Also Recommend:

Loved the first book of series--This one Not so Much....

I was waiting for this book to be released and had it marked on my calendar. I just loved the first book of the series, Dangerous Highlander, but after reading Forbidden Highlander--I liked it Not so Much. I just could not find the plot. The eldest brother is Fallon and this is his story. We first met Fallon in "Dangerous Highlander" and he was lost in his drinking, sloth and self-pity. Unfortunately, he was more interesting in the first book than this one. Boy, that's harsh, but I think I said that because I am so disappointed and had high expectations for this book. In Forbidden Highlander, Fallon meets and falls in love with the good chick, cleans and rebuilds the castle, thought about his brother Quinn currently held captive by the evil chick, and that was about it. I kept asking myself, What is the point of this plot? Where is the plot? I was left plot-less.

Nonetheless, I have the third book in the series, "Wicked Highlander" marked on my calendar! Donna Grant is a very good writer, and I'm hoping that the third book is just as good or better than the first one. I still recommend reading this book because of the writing.

    E Book Pricing

Once again the Pre-Order pricing is higher than the actual paperback. I have a hard time beliving that B&N can not "negotiate" same if not lower pricing for a paperless product. If we waited 6 months we could have bought Border's ebook for $100+ less and received cheaper books. Kindle's book price is cheaper as well.

Kirby and the Dark Phoenix: Chapter 2

((Yeah, sorry I got you confused, Silver. Like I said, first fanfic.))
A creature bursted through the castle walls. It was unlike anything Kirby ever saw before. It was eagle like, except it was black. Its hooked beak was silver with a gray tip, and its eyes were glowing red. Epic ran in, despite the fact she was banished. "Who are you!?" Said King Dedede, raising his hammer. "Why do you ask who am I? Never have you heard the legend?" Replied the creature. Kirby didn't know which legend it was talking about, but Epic seem to know. "You're the Dark Phoenix." She said with a mixture of awe and loathing in her voice as she rose her spear. "Hmmm, smart Waddle Dee, though I was better known as Daro back in my day." Replied Daro. "I am here to merely retrieve my belongings." With that, he started digging at the castle floor, trying to get at something. With a jolt, Kirby realized he was looking for either the Nightmare Rod or the Dark Sword. Kirby quickly grabbed a torch, and, without bothering to inhale it, chucked it in his mouth and swallowed it. As a result, he recieved the ability of fire. The flames flickered in his hat. Kirby blew flames at the phoenix, scorching his feathers. "You dare try to stop me?" Screeched Daro. He attacked Kirby with his talons. Kirby retailated by breathing more fire. Dedede swung his large hammer, but Daro evaded the attack. Epic threw her spear, implanting itself in Daro's silver right leg. Screeching in pain, he threw Epic against King Dedede's throne. She slumped over, un<_>concious. Daro then grabbed out a rod with a handle of alternating purple and gray stripes and a black star at the tip. The Nightmare Rod. Swinging his hammer at Daro, which landed on Daro's left hip, he yelled "How did you even know it was even there!?" Daro replied as he hit King Dedede with a blast of tangible darkness "I can feel all traces of evil. How could I not?" King Dedede hit the wall. Kirby released a ball of fire against Daro. He got hit by the attack, scorching his wing, though unharmed. Quick as lightning, he attacked Kirby with another blast of darkness. The power of fire was released from Kirby as a red star. Before he could manage to retrieve it, Daro grabbed the star, and crushed into shards. He looked at the pink puffball, now covered in br<_>uises and having a scar on his right cheek where Kirby was scratched by Daro's talons. "There is no point in stopping me, Kirby. Popstar has always been destined to be ruled by darkness." The Dark Phoenix said. Then he released another blast of darkness, more powerful than the previous ones, and slammed Kirby through the wall. Then everything before Kirby's eyes faded into black.
((There's no fanfic without some action. Anyway, now I will officially put character applications into consideration. If it's an enemy from the games, tell me what they look like, because I am not to acquinted with this franchise's enemies. Tell me what you think!))

Good book but I am so tired and irritated of paying 7.99 plus dollars for an ebook when the details claim it's 352 pages then finding out it only has 221! It's not my intent to attack this author but it does make me hesitant to buy any more when comparable authors books are 100+ more pages. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. That being said Grant's books are an enjoyable read, I just wish they were either less expensive or longer.

The second book in this series is just as good as the first book. Too much explicit sex, but I just skim over that and read the story. Story keeps your interest. Bought and read this and the 3rd book in series the same day. Excellent read.

i liked this ebook but for me the first one was better. i am about to read the 3rd one. i payed to much for this ebook.it is a shame that i could have bought the book cheaper than i could the ebook. i didnt look in time or i would have instead. we are being taken advantage of and evidently the publishers are under the asumption that we will continue to pay these prices. granted his has taken me awhile to figure out that i have to look before i buy, but i will from now on.
