Glenn and Miranda met in college and became lovers. They were very much in love, but Glenn's mother had plans for him and Miranda didn't fit into them. So she left him to make it easier on everyone. Years later, Glenn has gone missing in Venezuela. Miranda has lost her husband and her daughter. She murdered a man and is starting a new job. Her first assignment is to find Glenn. Trying to navigate the political climate of Venezuela, looking for treachery, torture and getting through the jungle without getting killed makes for a good story.

oh my gosh I just finished this book and I loved it so much. If I could have given it a 10 I would have. I was a little nervous at the start of the book but once I started reading I was hooked. I couldn't put it down (if only life didn't get in the way). I went back and re-read several parts of the book before I even got to the end. It was filled with so much suspense. I was on the edge of my seat through most of the story. I loved the characters, Miranda and Glenn. I can't say enough good things about this book or this author. I am a huge fan of Dana Marton and she just continues to thrill me with each new book I read. Well done Dana Marton!!!!!!

This was a great suspense book that provided a great escape from the world for a bit. I loved the plot development especially that just when you think you have everything figured out Dana tossed in another curve. The best part was the character development. Dana did a great job of creating a female lead with a strong will to succeed with a bit of emotional baggage to soften the character a bit, but didn't get in the way of her getting the job done. The chemistry between the male and female leads was intense, yet extremely believable. If you are looking for a great read this holiday season or anytime really, this is the book to grab! I really believe that Dana Marton's books just keep getting better and better! I'm already looking forward to the next book she develops!

I have read a few of Ms. Marton’s previous books and really enjoyed them. When I started this book, I will be honest I wasn’t completely sure how I was going to like the story. But as I got further into it, I just couldn’t put the book down. I do want to say though, there is mention of child molesting happening in the book. It is not graphic at all, but told as a part of what had happened with Miranda and it actually does play big part in the happily ever after at the end of the book. I do have to say that Ms. Marton did a great job with that scene because it wasn’t crude or erotic in any sense, it showed the pain that Miranda was feeling when it was happening. I really did enjoy Miranda’s character, and Glenn was also a great character as well. They both had their strengths and weaknesses, and they seemed to play off of each other quite well. Glenn was a very sweet man and he just had something about him that drew me to him while I was reading. Miranda has to be one of the strongest female characters that I have read in a very long time. She was just overall amazing during the story. The only thing that I didn’t really enjoy about the story was how predictable it was, but that still didn’t sway me from reading it. There was enough action and suspense to keep me going and turning the pages. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a really good read that will keep your attention and leave you wanting more Reviewed by Crystal Marie for Crystal’s Many Reviewers *Copy provided for review*

5 star I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and kept my on the edge of my seat. The story has laughs, suspense, betrayal, and heartbreak. This is Miranda and Glenn’s story. When Glenn goes missing in Venezuela Miranda goes as a member of the Civilian Personnel Recovery Unit to get him back. After finding him they both get captured. Glenn blames Miranda for getting recaptured. They dated years ago so they have history but Glenn can tell the years have not been very kind to Miranda. She has had a few painful years and shuts down when we wants to discuss a future. Can they work together to escape and make it home? Can they figure out who is setting up Glenn? Or will they fight each other and not make it out together or alive? I loved these characters they were both strong but also a little broken. But all in all I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book and this author!

Wow! I love this woman’s books and they just keep getting better. This is the first book in a new series and I have to say, I cannot wait for more. The opening line about a monkey catches your attention and reels you in from there.  Glenn is a forced disappearance, where foreigners are kidnapped outside the law and made to disappear, for whatever nefarious reason.  Miranda is ex-Army and has a new job with a civilian search and rescue unit. Her first assignment is finding Glenn in Venezuela.  Both have a past with each other.  Some of my favourite Dana Marton books are set in wild places. One of her SDDU series was set in a jungle, and it had me reading from cover-to-cover in pretty much one sitting. Her Sheikh series, one of which was a SDDU crossover, again had me devouring it in a sitting. There’s something about the way she writes about these untamed places: the wildlife, the survival methods and the roadblocks along the way. I’m sure she has a wonderful time researching the destinations, the culture and the history for each book. A memory teases the edge about a banana spider in one of her books. It was a rather humourous moment! (and I really hope I’m remembering the right book!!) Despite my often less than stellar memory of which storyline belongs to which author (which is why I write reviews as soon as I’m done reading) I do know that Dana Marton is deserving of her award winning status. She creates wonderful characters, like Glenn and Miranda, puts them in less than wonderful locations, like the Venezuelan jungle, complete with really crappy situations. There’s definitely a little ‘ooo, ick’ moment near the start, not as bad as some I’ve seen, but enough to make me squirm a bit. And I have to say, I love happy tears. Love them! My daughter even asked me, “you okay, Mummy? Why you crying?” It’s hard to explain happy tears to a three-year-old! If you’re already a Dana Marton fan, jump on this one, quick sticks. If you’re not already a fan or have never heard of Dana before, please give this a go. It really is a fabulous book.

Miranda Soto may no longer have a career in the military, but her new job is not much easier. She’s now a member of the Civilian Personnel Recovery Unit and her first assignment is to find a missing American businessman, Glenn Danning, in Venezuela. However, this is no ordinary case. The missing businessman happens to be a former lover which makes this case very personal. Although it’s been a long time since Miranda saw Glenn, she still has feelings for him and is not about to let anything bad happen to him. She vows to return him to his family, unharmed. When Glenn Danning is captured, tortured, and accused of being a spy, he is determined to get back home. He’s shocked when his rescuer turns out to be a former lover. Even with Miranda, it’s not an easy fight to escape their captors. Talk about intense drama and action, this book has more than its share of it. I could feel all the pain these two went through. Dana Marton is an expert at creating excitement and a gut-wrenching story. This book is jammed with emotions, adventure, romance and thrills. Miranda and Glenn’s chemistry sizzles on each page. I was totally captivated and couldn’t put this one down. Dana Marton has won me over as a fan and I’ll be sure to read her backlist. FTC Disclosure: The author provided me with a copy of this book to review for this blog tour. This did not influence my thoughts and opinions in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.

Great Book!  I love Dana Marton’s books and this one didn't disappoint, it was great! Miranda is ready for her first assignment, which is rescuing wealthy businessman Glenn Danning who also happens to be her ex boyfriend from when she went to MIT. She is tough as nails and will do anything to rescue Glenn and get him to safety. When Glenn sees Miranda, they realize that their attraction is still there maybe even hotter. This book has it all, mystery, suspense and romance. I loved it, and can’t wait for the next book by Dana.  A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review

Oh My! Wow! This story has torn me apart. I don't know how you could pack so much power in this book. Miranda is such a special person as is Glenn, her first love. Miranda has left the military (spoiler) and now works for a new invisible company that retrieves missing people out of the country. Glenn runs an energy company and goes missing in Venezuela. She goes to recover him and she has her work cut out for her. There are a lot of spoilers in this book and they start here. I will say that you will never see the ending of this story coming. I hope you are a Dana fan reading this book. If not I hope you become one. I liked her previous books but this one is the best one now. Enjoy !  I have this book for an honest review for Dana Marton.

Are you looking for a suspense filled book with a twist at every turn? Oh my do I have a title for you to look for then. Forced Disappearance by Dana Marton is one of those books that I had to hang on to my seat tight from page one all the way to the end. Dana Marton has written a book full of drama, intrigue, mystery, romance, and twists that kept me turning pages quickly. Miranda Soto has been through so many tragedies in her life already. When she hears the name of the person she is to retrieve for her first mission she is surprised. Her first retrieval is an old friend and she is determined to save him.  If I was in a dangerous situation I would want Miranda in my corner. She is resourceful, can kick butt with trained moves, and is just a little sassy with a strong sense of survival. I really liked Miranda and found myself instantly connected with this strong lady. She is creative and has a way of finding out things in a roundabout way.  Glenn Danning is use to solving problems in his business suit in an office, not running for his life through the rain forest. However Glenn is a quick on his feet kind of guy that comes up with a few interesting ideas of his own. Glenn has been through so much and has been hurt so badly. I admired Glenn for being so adaptable to this situation he finds himself in. This poor guy has been through a horrible experience and just wants to get home.  Glenn and Miranda work well together and their attraction from years earlier is still very strong. They share a bond and know each other so well even after all the time that has passed. I really enjoyed watching these two work together and get to know each other again. When they finally gave in to temptation they certainly did warm my Kindle up quickly. I found myself cheering these two on though all the problems they encounter. Just when things start to work out another problem presents itself or another dangerous situation is just around the corner.  I really enjoy everything that Dana Marton writes. She does a fabulous job of writing a dramatic romance that keeps me turning the pages. I am always very excited when I hear she has a new release. I have been very lucky to read two of her new releases this month. If you are a Dana Marton fan already then grab this book quickly. I think you will enjoy it as much as I did. If you haven't had the chance to read her work yet but enjoy a quick paced, suspense filled, dramatic romance story then try this one.  I was given the opportunity to read this great book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Forced Disappearance.

I think Dana might have outdone herself with this book. I’ve read and loved all of her Broslin Creek books but the spine tingling suspense and sexy, hot, somewhat-reluctant romance between Miranda and Glenn have set a new standard for me in Romantic Suspense. This book kept me on the edge of my seat nearly the entire time I was reading it! Just when I thought things were going well something else came up. There were many twists and turns but not so many that it was confusing. If you are a fan of Romantic Suspense you will love this book. If you’ve never read a book by Dana Marton before you should give this one a try (and then you will want to read all of her others!). I was given an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
