Insight that would benefit us all.

The words contained in this book are often prophetic and deeply rooted in strict beliefs and principles that he has stood up for his entire political career. Which is weird considering that more often than not politicians will take whichever position will win them elections next term, rarely adhering to their supposed beliefs let alone the constitution. Ron Paul said it best, 'let it not be said we did nothing'. There is absolutely no reason to continue ignoring history or to continue this idea of preemptive war. No longer is there an excuse to buy into the propaganda that is spoon-fed to us from the moment we wake up to the moment we go to sleep. Our policy is currently driven by patriotism, rhetoric, and ignorance fueled by fear. It's a shame that the policy he endorses is viewed as 'isolationism' to the misinformed and his ideas deemed radical, but then again, so were the founders, and I'm sure we can all agree they were great educated men of principle.

    Ron Paul 2008!

Freedom is a popular message and Ron Paul has never swayed from his Constitutional beliefs. Ten terms of Congress shows that he truly is an exception to the corrupt gang in Congress and in the White House. There is still hope for America look to RON PAUL.

    Brilliant !

This book nails it! Was very impressed with the easy read. It connects on so many levels. Had no idea how far our nation has veared off course and why exactly we have been losing friends. I was encouraged to research Ron Paul further and found a site with all of his writings called PaulOnPaper'dot'com. This is a must read book for everyone.

    more from this reviewer

If you care about America, read this book.

Americans are angry that their elected officials are not responsible to, nor responsive to their constituency. This book is an answer to that.
Here are thirty years of Congressman Ron Paul's speeches on the House Floor, covering America's foreign policy decisions regarding China, the UN, the Iraq and Afgan wars, Iran and much more. His speeches are clear, concise, and poignant essays that cast much needed light on some of the most important issues of our times. Each includes some explanatory notes regarding that moment, and the book includes numerous entries from Paul's personal diary.
Not just for students of history or supporters of Ron Paul, this book is for all Americans who want to know how their government works, and anyone who wishes to understand the issues behind US foreign policy. This is not a collection of political aggrandizements, but 'ripped from the headlines' pieces of the Congressional Record. An elected official could not make it easier for us to join the debate that is our participatory democracy!

    A reviewer

Buy this book if you want to learn about a Constitutional foreign policy of Non-Intervention as opposed to our current policy of Nation Building and policing the world. Regardless of how you feel about the war in Iraq you have to admit that we are going broke. The only way we keep the war machine turning is by borrowing billions and billions from the Chinese, Japanese and Saudis, is this a path America should go down? Did you know that the privately owned Federal Reserve bank prints money out of thin air? This is why the dollar is so WEAK today (we've sunken below the Canadians for goodness sake!). Empires always collapse, our own will be no different, only by following the road map to peace and prosperity that Congressman Paul has laid out, can we survive as a nation.

Excellent book for anyone to have in there library. If you read this book you will have a true understanding of why we should not be in 'entangling alliances' overseas and how is hurts our nation.

Ron Paul OUR 'BOSTON TEA PARTY'

I have just received Ron Paul¿s book ¿A Foreign Policy of Freedom.¿ This book is a collection of Ron Paul¿s speeches on the floor of The House of Representatives. I am a new parent and grow increasingly alarmed with the future we are leaving our children and grandchildren. I have become awakened by the movement of this distinguished representative of the people. Dr. Paul¿s speeches on the floor gathered in this book shed light on what was going on that day in Washington. I had no idea we were involved in so many political situations in other countries. What I liked best about the book is the subject¿s and situations on which Paul speaks of, this allowed me to go and look further into each of these issues and unfortunately Paul was correct on all of them! I say unfortunately because there were many men and women that sacrificed their lives for causes that we had no business being involved in. Even further, we have in many instances put individuals in power in other countries, gave huge sums of money to, and supplied the arms, all of which are and were taxpayer dollars. And yet, further, we armed and gave money to these leaders enemies, and promised to protect both from harm, this instance is evident early in the book with the ¿82 Falklands War. So when they found themselves in a conflict, our representatives felt obligated to send relief in the form of military strength. So in turn some of our men died. Very unfortunate! You should read the info on the media spin¿s or the lack there of. I would have never known about these issues or even thought to look them up without reading this book. I look at this book as a gateway to the recent history in our foreign fallacy¿.I mean policy. This book is has a wealth of information to delve deeper into and as you read through it, do research on this issues Paul warns the other representatives on you will undoubtedly come to the conclusion that our actions most definitely creates reactions and hatred toward our country. Not our freedoms but certainly our policy of intervention. I really understand why it is so important to join the Revolution now taking place. Our country¿s leaders have really lost their way. I wonder who they really represent. Thank you Ron Paul for the work you have done thus far! I highly recommend reading this book. It shows a lone voice of reason and true leadership in Ron Paul in an ever increasingly unconstitutional government.
