What People Are Saying

Dan Foss
Lhota and Milstein's scenes are a forensics coach's and drama teacher's dream: intelligent, well-crafted, and most importantly, original.
Forensics Judge and Former Assistant, Sandwich High School
Dr. James M. Brandon
The duos in this book are applicable to forensics students at various stages of development, and should be an excellent starting point for the novice speaker, in particular. A must-read for forensics coaches and students at all levels of competition.
Assistant Professor of Theatre and Speech, Director of Forensics, Hillsdale College
Merel K. Marine
Just when a high school forensics coach begins to despair of finding appropriate new quality scenes for young performers, Lhota and Milstein present us with this treasure trove of quality scenes for performance and rehearsal. Thank you Barbara and Janet; we needed you thirty years ago!
Award-Winning Dramatic & Speech Coach (Retired), Victor J. Andrew High School

    Invaluable Tool for Forensics

As a forensics competition judge and acting teacher, I would say 'run, don't walk' to pick up a copy. These aren't really scenes; each is a little one-act jewel with enough dramatic meat for young actors of all types to really sink their teeth into. I've already started using it for scene study classes. I highly recommend this title.

This is the BEST DUET book ever!!

Hi! I am a speech student and I am on the forensics team at my highschool and my coach told me about this book that he just found and I borrowed it and I read the whole thing in like two days! It's great! There are so many scenes I love I had to make a list for my coach to help pick for next season!! I give it 10 stars!!

Coaches/Acting Teachers/Students - RUN OUT AND GET THIS!!!

I am a forensics coach and free-lance acting coach in the Chicago area. Thanks to Lhota and Milstein for offering us some well-written, intelligent, challenging scenes that we haven't seen a thousand times before. They offer subject matter that varies from terrorism to autism to the final amazing scene about coming to terms with the loss of a spouse. This is one coach who hopes that this is the first of MANY books like this!!
