About the Author

Holly Chorba is a naturalist photographer who resides just north of New York State's Adirondack Park.. Her education, career, and life focus on teaching and learning. She employs photography and story telling through photography as a way to better see the beauty and wonder of the world, interpret it and share it with others.Holly has lived and played in the greater Adirondack Region of New York State since beginning her higher education in Potsdam and Canton, New York.\The Adirondacks have been a wonderful venue for her hiking, back-packing, paddling, and photo/video adventures. She has published books three books and has presented her multi-media presentations to the Retired Educators of New York, the Vermont Club of Green Valley, Saranac Village at Will Rogers, and several other venues. Her photographs have been chosen as the winning entry for several contests including: the Alpo International Sled Dog Photography Contest Winner, (2006), the Nature Conservancy of Northern New York Photo Contest, the 2016 juried exhibition "Life in the Lakes" at Paul Smith's Visitor Interpretive Center, and The Adirondack Mountain Club Laurentian Chapter (awards to her Adirondack photos "October Morn, Boreas Ponds", "Reflections:Grass River Wild Forest" and "Lake Placid Tracks". Her photographs have been published by the NY State Retired Teachers' Association's Annual Convention Publication (2008), as cover photo of the "Fine Art Up North Calendar (2016 & 2017)., Holly enjoys immersing herself in the peace and beauty of home, cooking, entertaining friends and family, hiking, paddling, travel and reading...just about any activity that involves friends and family enjoying the outdoors. Introducing the practice of Forest Bathing is Holly's way of sharing her love of the ADK region with you.
