My Review:
*sigh* Another fabulous book from Jill Shalvis. Dr. Josh = YUMMY! If anyone needs love in his life, it's this overworked, overwhelmed sexy man. And Josh's life is extremely overwhelming. He has a private practice which he's running alone, works several shifts in the ER, volunteers when he can at another medical facility, as well as acting as single father to his young son, and surrogate father to his paralyzed 21 yo wildchild sister. He's overwhelmed, exhausted and certainly doesn't have room for romance in his life.
But Grace falls into his life when he calls a wrong number. He's looking for a dogwalker. She needs money desperately so she's willing to deal with satan's spawn puppy. Slowly she slides bit by bit into his life. He starts to rely on her as she gets sucked further and further into the details of his family's life.
I liked the slow build up of this relationship. They are acquaintances and out of necessity, she becomes more and more to all the family....but most especially to Josh. Neither one of them want it. He's too busy. She doesn't have any desire to be a doctor's girlfriend...she knows she'll never come first in that contest. But they have undeniable chemistry. He's drawn to her and while they try to deny their attraction, some things will not be denied.
But this isn't just a romance between Grace and Josh. This is about his family...Anna, his 21 yo sister who's floundering under survivor's guilt and trying to find her own place in the world. His son, Toby, who wants nothing more than a mother to fill the hole in his life. This little 5 yo deserves so much more than he's getting from Josh and Josh's guilt over that is heartbreaking. They have some beautiful, heart-wrenching scenes between these two that I just loved!
I make no secret that I love Jill Shalvis' books....this one is absolutely one of her very best!
I received a complementary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Finding a new author is very exciting. Finding a new author who seems to be only new to you, makes you feel like you’ve been living under a rock. That’s how I felt after reading Forever and a Day by Jill Shalvis and then researching her on Amazon and seeing that she is not some brand new author, but an established one with a book list that is right now, filling up my Kindle.
With characters that make you wish they were your friends and a great story being told, Forever and a Day takes you back in to Lucky Harbor (this is book #6 in the series, after all) for Grace and Josh.
Grace is on what seems like a temporary pit-stop from the life that she is expected to lead. With over-achieving parents, she’s known that they expect greatness from her. The problem? Their idea of greatness and her own aren’t one in the same. Finding herself in Lucky Harbor by accident, this bump in the road is exactly what she needs to find herself and what makes her happy.
On the opposite end of the spectrum is Josh. Mr. Responsible, Mr. Taking-Care-of Everyone but himself. He’s taken on a massive amount of responsibility and thought that he was good with it all, until he met Grace.
What I loved about this book is that both of these characters have good hearts and great capability to love but because of the circumstances in their lives, they are afraid to take a chance. The compliment each other in their personalities and watching them each leave their comfort zones at different points in the story was both comical and relatable.
A great story and although I would recommend reading the Lucky Harbor series in order, it wasn’t fully necessary to have done so and understand what was going on in the story. I can now say that I am a Jill Shalvis fan!

Love the little 'chocolate' quotes at the beginning of every chapter, giving you a bit of insight as to what the chapter is about.
Grace Brooks has been around Lucky Harbor a bit but still no full time job. She does a lot of little errands or part time work for others. Her latest is a dog sitter which is Dr. Josh Scott's dog, Tank but she lost him when he hightailed it into the ocean.
Josh is an ER doctor and works at his fathers practice as well. There's just not enough hours in the day to do that, and exercise and have a girlfriend he was thinking when he first saw Grace come out of the ocean dripping wet.
He has his college aged sister living with him and his son Toby and she wants to use her settlement from being paralyzed in the car crash to go with Devon to Europe.
They talk again while she's modeling cuz he needs her to watch the dog really bad, apologizes and kisses her with the promise of triple the pay. Problem is, other things arise that cause her more work and aggravation and just plain craziness.
Her chocolate loving girlfriends are there for courage hope and to persuade her to go get some.
Hot steamy sex along with catching up with the happenings of Lucky Harbor make this a fun, laugh til you have tears in your eyes from the mishaps that happen book.
Love to hear how they trade chocolate items for real things. Such an easy going book to read, love this series.
She started looking forward to walking the dog and the other chores he had for her... They start leaning on each other a lot more often as circumstances arise. Love how she gets close to Anna with some solid advice and how she can talk to the little boy.
Love how when the night turns bad the whole town shows up to help with the recovery at the hospital and police station.
Love the extras at the end...

Sex and Chaos
Thanks to the publisher, Grand Central Publishing, and NetGalley for the chance to read this early!
Welcome back to the Lucky Harbor, Washington.
The author introduced the Chocoholics: ~~ Mallory Quinn ~~ Amy Michaels ~~ Grace Brooks ~~ in Lucky in Love. Gave us Amy’s story in … At Last. Now for the final book in the Chocoholic trilogy with newcomer Grace Brooks, and Doctor Joshua Scott aka Dr. McHottie.
Grace landed in Lucky Harbor due to a misunderstanding about her new job responsibilities. She had initially relocated from NY to WA for a banking job; only to discover that her boss was a pervert. Not wanting to put out for her new boss she left Seattle and drove until her car was empty. She ended up at the Eat Me diner during a snow storm, met Mallory and Amy and the Chocoholics were born. So she is stuck in a strange town, unemployed, and about to OD on chocolate. Her next step…is to find a job…any job…before her savings runs out.
Ok, let me stipulate up front that I wasn’t looking forward to Josh’s story. I was exhausted just listening to the snippets we got about him from his friends book. His life seemed like it was so chaotic. Let’s take a look at what was already on his plate prior to his sister bringing home the demon puppy, Tank. His family life includes bring a single dad to his 5-year-old son, Toby. While also taking care of his 21-year-old sister, Anna, a highly functioning paraplegic with the boyfriend from hell. His professional life isn’t any less crazy it includes 2 shifts a week in the Hospital ER, 4 shifts at his dad private practice, and volunteering as often as possible to the HSC.
Tank, aka the antichrist, brings Grace and Josh together. Josh needs a dog walker and Grace needs a job.
With Grace’s strength of character and Josh’s intractability I bet Ms. Shalvis was to commit character-cide when she was writing this…the HEA is everything you expect and these characters deserve. This book is filled with Sex & Chaos.
A big THANK YOU to Ms. Shalvis – for continuing to return to Lucky harbor and bring me the characters I fell in love with. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Lucky Harbor.

Shadowheart quickly sidesteps the young toms attack. Youll have to be quicker than that! Try distracting me by looking somewhere else.

Another of the Chocoholics is pulled kicking and screaming into the line of cupid's arrow. I highly recommend not only Forever and Day but all the Lucky Harbor Series books.

JILL SHALVIS is doing a GREAT job with the whole series. Each book is connected to the others but has it's own story.

Characters were shallow and unrealistic. Skimmed through parts because it was so painful. Mad that I was taken in by the 4 star review so I wanted to finish to give my review. Not worth 5 dollars and some change.
