Overview

The Awful Truth About Emily Ruth!

Lucas Griffin has come to Port Gamble for one purpose: to get the Griffin family summer home out of the clutches of his evil ex-wife, Emily Ruth Griffin.

But before he can blink twice, she drops dead in the local grocery market. Now he's stuck with her ghost, and her little dog, too.

Not-So-Dearly Departed Lila Abbott has had her fill of rich summer people who crowd Port Gamble every year. Townie girls and summer boys just don't mix, and she's learned that the hard way.

But Lucas Griffin has a ghost problem that only Lila can solve, and she finds herself knee-deep in Cheez Whiz while Lucas and the deceased Emily Ruth duke it out.

Working together to clear his name and get rid of their pesky poltergeist, Lucas and Lila find themselves falling in love. Maybe this will finally be the forever summer for Lila Abbott.

Meet the Author

Dear Readers,

Sometimes when you write a special book, the characters move into your heart and take up residence. This was the case with the cast of Hysterical Blondeness. I enjoyed my time with each and every one of them and I hope you do, too.

Peace, Suzanne Macpherson

Loved this book!! You'll probably figure out "who done it" before you get to the end. But getting to the "why?" is the fun part. If you want a light and fun read, i recommend this one.

In Port Gamble, single mom Lila Abbott works in the produce section of the neighborhood grocery. However, Lila has a talent that she hides from people for fear half would thinks she is crazy and the rest would demand her time. Lila is a ghost whisperer.---------------- Lila finds Emily Ruth Griffin, the former wife of journalist Lucas Griffin, lying dead fittingly amidst lemons in the produce section. However, in death as in life she is pain in the butt at least to Lucas and now to Lila as this acrimonious spirit destroys fruits and explodes Cheez Whiz cans. Lila and Lucas join up try to learn who killed Emily Ruth as he is the prime suspect with the motive to displace her from his family¿s summer home while her obnoxious dog keeps searching for her amongst apples and bananas. As the wealthy journalist and the working mother struggle with a nasty ghost, they fall in love.--------------------- The antics of Emily Ruth from the afterlife make for an amusing contemporary paranormal romance as she is even more obnoxious readers can picture Lucas naming a hemorrhoid after her. However, with Emily Ruth stealing the show, the romance between the reporter and produce worker never fully comes off except when the ghost causes havoc aimed at Lila driving the duo together. Still fans will enjoy this humorous triangular frolic between the ex-spouse the fruits and vegetable lady, and the ghost.-------------- Harriet Klausner

I believe in ghosts, just not the "Show Me" kind in this book. But... I took The Forever Summer all in fun with a mystery punch. Oh, and a small dose of token sex. I knew Lila was gonna get her love interest, and midway through the book, I knew who the killer was, but I absolutely did not know why, and " the why" was great as it helped make a happy ending for all. So, buy the book, it was only .99 and worth it even though it was 189 pages short.
