I loved getting to know Caleb and Angie. Caleb and Angie are thrown together when their history professor decides to parter them for a major project. Caleb flat out refuses to work with Angie. After some convincing he finally relents. I wanted to smack Caleb. He was such an ass. But eventually he comes around and I grew to love him. I really loved his friendship with his roommate Josh. I am so looking forward to reading Josh's story and of course seeing more of Caleb and Angie Josh's book. I really liked this authors writing style. If was fast paced. I didn't feel bored with a bunch of inner dialogue like so many authors seem to fill their books with. This book was sad, yet heartwarming and sexy as hell. Looking forward to more from Rebecca Brooke in the future! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Forgiven by Rebecca Brooke is a tragic and beautiful and ultimately forgiving tale of overcoming your past and learning to move forward. Told from both Caleb and Angie's points of view, this story slowly builds your insight into their past and how it has built the people they are today. The beautiful thing about their relationship is that you also get to see how their love heals who they were.
Caleb is a loner, he gets along with his roommate Josh because neither one has any desire to dig into their pasts. They each have things best left forgotten. Caleb denies his attraction to Angie for as long as possible believing he does not deserve her, but the feelings he has for her outweigh his desire to protect her from himself.
Angie has dealt with emotional and verbal abuse for almost as long as she can remember so when her history professor assigns Caleb as her project partner and she gets a rude brush off from him she knows it's the last thing she needs. Well, almost the last thing, a failing grade for not working as a team on this project is the LAST thing she needs.
Together they grow stronger and learn to forgive themselves for the bad things that have happened to them.

Angelina Powers didn't have what you would call a typical childhood growing up. Her mom took off when she was young and her dad turned to alcohol. She learned fast that the only person she could depend on was herself.
Caleb Jacobs' life changed two years ago after a terrible tragedy. Not willing or able to forgive himself, he threw himself into school and sports.
Then one day fate stepped in and brought them together. There was something about Angie that served as a constant reminder of the loss he suffered two years ago and he will try anything to avoid her. Will he succeed? Or will his feelings towards her get the better of him? Will Angie allow herself to open up and let someone in? Or will her insecurities from years of verbal abuse from her father get in the way?
"Sometimes bad things happen to good people. It just means we need to learn how to forgive, and move on."
I loved this book! I totally felt like I was a part of this story and found myself laughing and crying along with the characters. The characters were very well developed and the story was as well. What a great story about forgiveness and learning to move on. There were times I just wanted to smack Caleb and tell him to realize what he had. I LOVED Angie's friend Emily - what a spitfire! Caleb's friend Josh was awesome as well! Can't wait to read his story!
