Overview

"If your enemies are starving, feed them some bread; if they are thirsty, give them water to drink." Proverbs 24:17 (CEB)

There is nothing more crippling than holding on to anger. Anger, more than any other emotion, has the power to consume all aspects of our lives, distort our sense of purpose, and destroy our relationship with God.

In the passionate and life-changing book "Forgiveness: Finding Peace Though Letting Go, bestselling author Adam Hamilton brings the same insight that he applied in the bestseller "Why?" to the challenge of forgiveness. Hamilton argues that revelation comes when we realize that forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves rather than to someone else. He also contends that only when we learn to forgive others and ourselves can we  truly receive forgiveness from God.

    The Power of Forgiveness

An old proverb states, "Holding onto a resentment is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." Adam Hamilton succinctly makes a case for shedding our backpack full of resentments as an antidote for the poison they bring to our life. This book lays out God's plan for us to deal with the hurts, both big and small, that affect our lives and keep us from being the loving people we need to be. A must read for those trapped in bitterness or who are trying to understand the bitterness in others.

    Great guidance

Living with a lot of similar problems, the author offers great guidance. I already started my forgiveness journey and have started feeling better. I pray to continue my path down the forgiveness road and be another person' s inspiration. The book could have been a bit longer but I absobed so much information from what it offered. Worth the purchase.
