She's pretending to be his wife. He's pretending to believe her.

Reporter Ash Coye is faking amnesia to buy some time after a serial killer's attempt on his life. So when a hottie on a Harley shows up at his bedside claiming to be his wife, he has to pretend to believe her.

Joey Bradshaw knows lying to a guy with no memory is cruel, but if it keeps him alive and stops The Slasher, it's worth it. The sizzling attraction between her and her make believe husband, however, is an unexpected complication.

Maggie Shayne writes wonderful romance with page turning thrills that have a permanent spot on my keeper shelf."

This is the perfect book for those that like mysteries with a bit of romance thrown in. I was a little sceptical at first about the whole fake amnesia/fake marriage thing but this book was so much more than that. Its not a on the edge of your seat type mystery but it will definately keep you guessing for quite awhile.....This is definately a book I would read again.

The actions of a reporter trying to solve 4 murfders is confusing as to why he's playing detective. The psychic abilities of his pretend wife keep you guessing to the end

Good story altho i couldnt realky associate too much with joey. Didnt understand why until she learned ash's amnesia pretense and got upset, which she had no right to do cause she started the prtense to begin with..will give story a 3-rating tho. Subject matter was good.

What do you do when you have psychic powers and learn that your sister is going to be a victim of the Slasher?? Why you pretend to marry the man that is supposed to be killed before your sister and try to figure out who the Slasher is. A good read that I enjoyed!

A sexy sweet tangle, this romantic suspense kept me guessing till the very end. I was rooting for Joey (NOT Josephine) to figure out a way untangle herself from the web of lies she had woven around Ash in order to protect him and her beloved sister Caro. The dynamic between the two just made my spine tingle. Way to go Maggie-another 5 heart read! Joey has always had the extra little gift of premonition and suddenly she is seeing her beloved sister’s death along with a mysterious man whom she finds out is Ashville Coye star reporter. When Joey heard about Ash’s car accident that wiped out his memory she just couldn’t pass up the chance to insert herself into his life in hopes that she would be able to prevent his death and in turn her sisters. Her plan instantly goes awry, because little did she know that Ash’s supposed amnesia is a cover story he is using in hopes of luring the murderer to him. Well, that, and the fact that she is completely helpless to stop herself from falling in love with him.
