Throne of Bhaal is definately the besst Baldur's Gate books but after reading The Hunter's Blades Trilogy I had to rate this a four.

    Best of the 3!

It's no DragonLance, and after the second book I was a bit sick of the characters, but this book really got my attention back. Easily the best book of the three, great new characters, and really wraps up the series well.

    Throne of Bhaal

I am a bit obsessed with BG2:SoA and BG2: ToB, but i must admit, this book was great, almost as good as playing the game itself. The funny thing is that when you read a novel based off of a game, you find that the novel is not only a great story, but a strategy guide. No this doesn't mean to go out and name your character Abdel and so EXACTLY what the novel says. You must remember that D&D is a game that YOU control. Make your own choices. Find out every secret in the game (even to assemble EVERY artifact that makes a great weapon.) IT also depends on the class of your character. For Example, say Abdel is a cleric (but he's not) and he does a cleric quest, that doesn't mean you have to do the same. Too many people do that. be a different class. don't always follow the book. Ahh.. straying off the topic.. THe book was good and a great guide for newbies.
