    Rather dull

As with every book, it has it's ups and downs. With this latest addition though, it has more downs than ups. I fail to see how this book revolves around either Elminster or his daughter. I enjoyed all of the other Elminster books and just naturally assumed that I would enjoy this one. Seems I was mistaken.

Ok, but not as good as any of his other books.

I really expected more from this book. There wasn't nearly enough about Elminster's daughter Narnra in here...1/3 of the stuff on her (it seemed) all had to do with a single chase around town which was dragging on way to long. This novel could have had any of several character's being the main one rather than Narnra. I liked her character (although there should be much more to her based on her heratige...from both sides) and I hope there are more novels on her...but just her with a little Elminster. All the story jumping from one person to another to another also left me a bit confused at times.

    Another good Elminster book

This is basically another good book in the tradition Greenwood has written others. The main story could have been a little stronger throughout the middle of the book. The main character, however (Elminster's daughter), was extremely well written. He did a superb job of creating the character, gave the character depth and emotion. The ending was pretty good as well. I have to admit I didn't quite see it coming. Overall, definetely worth reading.
