Drizzt travels out of the underdark to get away from his heartless kin. Drow are known as an evil race but Drizzt cannot accept this way of life so he runs from everything he has known and turns to what is forbidden by his family, the surface world. The sun pains him but he accepts it as the suffering he must bare to follow this path. Every town he has approached has turned him away because he is a dark elf. While traveling he meets a ranger called Mooshie who is blind. They become great friends and Mooshie teaches Drizzt the ways of the forest. After Mooshies death, Drizzt travels on, looking for a place to call home. This book was a great and enjoyable read. I could relate to the situations that Drizzt had to go through.

This is a great book. The trilogy has some flaws, but the books were some of the best books I've ever read.
