I really enjoyed this book by Richard Baker. His writing style is unique and enjoyable. Baker is a skilled writer, I will be watching for other works by him. My favorite aspect of the book is Bakers ability to maintain an interesting plot without depending to heavily on the supernatural abilities of the characters in the book; that is make the story interesting without smothering the reader with characters magical abilities. I recomended this book to my friends and I recomend you read it. The story is good and does not disappoint.

Overall, the book was well-written and enjoyable. Its not going to win any awards, but that isn't the job o fthe piece. Its meant to entertain you, and it most certainly does that. The imagery of the journey towards the end of the book was wonderful, finally someone decided to explore this new land in a fascinating way!

Richard Baker does a wonderful job of capturing the reader and putting us right in the story. I swear I felt the pain Geran was feeling during the book. It was hard to put the book down.

This one's my kind of fantasy. Some great fiction focusing and fine-tuning a small piece of the Realms.

The nature of this series of books is that it is the collective works of several authors each writing a part of a bigger story, overseen by R.A Salvatore. R.A. Salvatore Presents The War of the Spider Queen. In this nature of writing if the editor is not diligent there tend to be a few inconsistencies. In this particular series most of them are minor such as how the Drow refer to themselves, i.e. female or woman. Also there tend to be some personality differences of the individual characters between the books. However, do not let this detract you. If you are a fan of the world of R.A Salvatore and the culture he has written extensively about then this is an essential read. These books are unique an interesting to read.
