I have read all of the books of Erevis Cale from beginning to end. It is a very good story all around. I own them all. Couldnt get enough of them because it just keeps you wanting to know whats going to happen next.

This is a great book and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. The ending to this book is fantastic and makes you want to buy the next one just to see what happens next. I am very picky about the books I read and I enjoyed this book enough to go buy the next book in the series and to write a review for this book as well.

'Shadowbred' is the continuation of the Erevis Cale Trilogy 'some readers have begun the series here'. Paul Kemp keeps the action and dark drama going in this book. Erevis Cale and his friends struggle to choose between what they want and what is right-- but they aren't your typical heroes, or villains! In the midst of world-changing events, Cale and Riven are forced to balance their duties to their god and their duties to a friend. More than capable in most situations, they come face to face with enemies who might just be more powerful than they anticipated. Every word in this book is important and the plot drives forward, as it does in all of Mr. Kemp's books. It is hard to put down, and a very rewarding read. The prose and dialogue are intelligent and to the point. The story is dark, but satisfying, not depressing. And the action scenes, particularly in this book, can't be beat. I can also personally recommend this book and the Erevis Cale Trilogy to people, like me, who have no previous experience with the world created by Dungeons & Dragons/Forgotten Realms. You don't need to know about the game rules, but much of the lore/backstory can be found online, if the reader is interested in learning more.
