I use this cookbook constantly, not just for camping. The hummu

I use this cookbook constantly, not just for camping. The hummus recipes are extensive and varied, the stews are very tasty, and the dehydrated yogurt is as delicious as it is unexpected. Some of the recipes are well suited to canoe camping; others are more suited to car camping.

    Good Resource

Nice instructional book on backwoods cooking. Plenty of helpful ideas with lots of yummy recipes. The recipes are thorough on instructing at home and at camp meal prep. The only draw back is the extravagance behind some of the meals requiring an expansive backwoods kitchen; not ideal for those striving for light backpacking, but still a good resource to have.

    Simply Brilliant

This is a brilliant book and one of the most complete guides to backpacking and camp cooking I've read to date.

    A reviewer

At first glance you can see that this book is different. It has an eye-catching, color cover and color insert featuring the foods in the book ¿ this alone is enough to make your mouth water. Add to that over 200 recipes and instructions on how to make your own recipes trail friendly and you have a real gem! The recipes I tried were excellent, good enough to serve to guests at home, yet they easily became great dried meals for the trail. Basically this is a full wilderness cooking course in a book and is a must-have in any backpacker or canoeist's collection.
