Meet the Author

USA Today Best Seller and iTunes Breakout Books author,Nana Malone's love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she borrowed from her cousin.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, in the meantime Nana works out her drama, passion and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.

Nana also writes sizzling erotic novellas as Q. Malone

I'I stayed up to read this. I have no patience so the moment I snapped it up, I got to reading. Which was problematic for my husband as he wanted to chit chat last night. Okay, so first the good: The plot was tight. It was a seamless transition from the first book to this book. I had wondered where she would take it.The action as always with Miss Malone was fantastic. You know that thing you do where you sit forward when you get to a suspenseful action part? That was me. Symone and Garrett have some great fight scenes. The first time they meet was awesome. The heat level = spicy, though I think maybe it was a little toned down with this book in the series. Either way, it was still hot. We got a glimpse into new characters and perhaps the direction for the new series. Now the bad: Not enough Cassie and Seth!!! Honestly that's what kept me from giving this a five. They made their cameos and you got to see where they were in their life, but the scenes with them were too short. I wanted more. Though, I do understand, it's a series and everyone needs their turn, I wanted to reminisce with old friends. Other than that, this was a blast. Can't wait for the next one.

I Love this Series! I got hooked on this series back in December when the first book Reluctant Protector came out. I love this writer's style. I actually went ahead and picked up her other contemporary books. The series is edgy and fun. I'd never even considered superheroes as a genre, but now I'm hooked. The action is tight. The female characters are strong and not simpering. Symone is seriously badass, but so vulnerable in her loneliness. The men are alpha and the love scenes are hot hot hot. If you like JR Ward or Shiloh Walker, you'll probably like this.

I really dug this authors style. Though I wish I'd read the first in the series before this one because this is the sequel. I wasn't lost but I could tell I'd missed something. The dialogue is fun and snappy, sort of like Buffy or Dark Angel. This book was where I wanted the Heroes TV show to go. A really interesting premise. I'm definitely going to pick up the rest in the series.

This story is years after Cassie and Seth freed the children captured by her brother. Symone wants to make a difference in the world and lives away fron the lair. Garrett signed up for a special treatment to keep his country safe from enemies. He is sent after Symone whom he was told was a terrorist and finds out that he has been lied to since joining the company that has turned him into a super soldier. Symone and Garrett work together with her "family" to finally put a stop to Peter and his evil plans. This was a very good story and I was excited to learn a little more about the rescued kids and their powers. You should definitely read the first book in this series as this is literally a continuation of it.
