Meet the Author

I started writing as a teenager, plunking my dad's electric typewriter on my bedroom floor and pounding away at it in my jams. I'd just finished reading Rage of Angels by Sidney Sheldon and found the unhappy ending inspiring. So, naturally, I decided to write romance novels, where the ending is guaranteed to be happy. You can’t imagine how relieved I am that you will never, ever read that first novel, which was edited using scissors and rubber cement. At least the fumes were good.
The day I sold my first novel, Relative Strangers, I almost hung up on my agent’s assistant, thinking she was a telemarketer. See, I’d given up on getting published and had decided to learn how to play the piano. Apparently, the universe was not impressed by my (in)ability to tickle the ivories.
My second novel, Caught in the Act, was a Rita finalist in the romantic suspense category. Nora Roberts won that year. She said she was “shocked,” so I must have had her worried.
My other novels include Found Wanting, soon to be an e-book, and three Berkley Sensation titles that are available now: Cold Midnight, True Vision and True Colors. True Shot, coming in December, is the third in my paranormal romantic suspense True trilogy.Besides writing, I love to play tennis and board games and grill out with friends. My guilty pleasures include The Real Housewives of New York, Project Runway and So You Think You Can Dance. I don’t have time to be ashamed.
I have two adorable puddies, Maddy and Allie, and plan to someday have a dog named Boo.
I love hearing from readers, so please feel free to drop me an e-mail even if it’s just to say hi: . My website is JoyceWrites.com.

    So So...

I thought I was going to really like this one, but as I got further into it I found it to only be so so. It had some good parts, but the heroine just became too much to take...too brave, too wonderful, and the storyline lost it's real-ness and became unnecessarily long.

Thanks to Barnes & Noble's Nook free Friday for introducing me to Joyce Lamb via Found Wanting. I enjoyed reading this book. I was hooked from the very start of the story. I have read three more of her books and just bought four more! Great reading - great author!

A lot of non-stop action with enough romance to keep me happy. Fun book!

    Found Wanting

In Colorado, her mom arrives to see her vanished daughter Alaina Chancellor for the first time in nine years. Not long afterward, Alaina's former lover and now brother-in-law shows up and tries to rape her, but her mother intercedes. As Alaina flees again with her son Jonah (from her 'interlude a decade ago with her former lover), her mother dies in a car crash.......................... Five years later in Chicago, private detective Mitch Kane, retained by Alina, easily finds Alaina, who he believes is a nasty piece of work for running off with his employer's son. However, he begins to change his mind as he observes the love between mother and child and when incidents occur to innocent people. He realizes that his cilent played him for a fool using his own feelings towards his ex-wife as a tool. As Mitch falls in love with Alaina, he vows to keep her and her son safe from a killier wolf in lamb's clothing........................ This is an exhilarating romantic suspense starring a wonderful female protagonist and a born again admirer of the courage of women. The story line is fast-paced and loaded with action especially as Addison's thugs do their assignment. Though how no one could see past Addison's outer shell to the ambitious violent killer inside seems stretched even for a clever sociopath villain, fans of taut thrillers will want to read FOUND WANTING.....................
