This is a great book for a "kid" of any age...

My parents gave it to me and I am 39! It gives great visual aids along with the factual information about the founding principles of this Great country.

    Great Value

This is a very informative tool. The coolest part of this book to me is the original size replicas of American historic documents. Perfect for students studying American History or A household tool for teaching and explaining Americas History as a family.

    Founding Fathers

Great book about early U.S.History of which I am a "buff". Well researched, good illustrations, a good, inticing coffee table book.

Excellent - stimulating and a fun read.

Excellent and certainly enlightening - a new way of understanding the founders by putting them in the context of their times.

    It's great

This is a great book, it teaches you a lot and there are copies of original documents, such as the U.S. Constitution. It's great as a gift for those who likes history and for those who would like to know more about the history of the United States and its Founding Father. I really recommend this book.

    I Also Recommend:

"1776" and our Most Famous National Archives Documents in One Slim Volume

Visiting the National Archives Rotunda of Freedom and coming face to face with the most essential documents in our nation's History leaves one with a sense of awe. Returning home, I wanted to find a book that would indeed capture the essence of those first three or so decades in the birth of America as a free Republic, and this interactive volume, complete with "hands on" versions of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution makes the significance of our living history as seen at the National Archives building even more spellbinding.

But wait, there's more, a gripping account of the battle of Saratoga, including the note that the British sent to Washington asking for a truce at Yorktown, reproductions of choice letters written by Franklin, Adams, Hamilton and others. A treasure trove of the Revolutionary History. The History itself isn't comprehensive, and much is left out, including the disastrous Canadian campaign and Benedict Arnold's treason, but the narrative of the retreat of the Continentals across New York to Washington's brilliant surprise on the Hessians at Trenton on Christmas Day 1776 is just as gripping if not as masterful as McCullough's "1776" and at less than half the price of the hardcover.

The book doesn't stop at the establishment of the Constitution, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the War Against the Barbary Pirates, and brief, though not fully satisfying narrative of the War of 1812 are also covered in this book.

Again, a most welcome Holiday gift for the American History buff, especially for the hands-on documentation.
