    Excellent Learning Tool

Elizabeth Richards knows how to write historically! In the education world she would score an A+. This is a precisely well-written, easy-to-read book to use as supplementary material for an educator or a parent. Younger students can LEARN from its flowing vocabulary and will enjoy hearing it read orally. They will easily visualize history in the past. I respect Elizabeth's knowledge of having students understand the past history before they learn about America's present history. This is a basic fact for successful education. In my opinion Elizabeth has the "right stuff" and relates well to the founding freedoms we support in the USA!

Bonnie G. Molloy, Retired elementary educator and author of science learning books for younger readers.

    Compelling Introduction to American History

I received an advanced copy of the book and found the author did a journeyman's job in outlining the fascinating early history of the United States for young people. I have a 3 year old who is much too young for it, but I have 12 to 18 year old nieces and nephews who will be receiving copies of this well thought-out introduction. It's filled with fascinating stories that I forgot or didn't know. Importantly, the author reminds her young readers to look at history through the eyes of the people who lived it, which makes some of our founders' errors more understandable to today's eyes. In fact, "understanding" is what this book seems intended to provide and it does so in simple, clear...understandable...language. Strongly recommended.
